Westminster Communities of Florida

I have never put my feelings about Westminster Communities of Florida into writing until now. I've put up with steady declines in services and little response from Management in Orlando. Today we received notice of a 10% rise in our monthly premiums (29% over the past 5 years). The dining room at Westminster Shores is a disgrace. Unclean conditions, poorly trained staff, tasteless and overcooked food and frequent "we're outta that" have forced many of us to dine elsewhere on our own dime even though we are still paying for this "food". As a physician one of the things that attracted us to Westminster was the promise that if we became ill a simple touch of the emergency button would bring a nurse to our unit. That disappeared during COVID and Administration firmly states it's not coming back. Phone reception in a large portion of our campus is so lousy that many 911 calls do not go through. WCOF has a policy against defibrillators even though they have been shown to TRIPLE the chance of survival in the event of cardiac arrest. When we moved to Westminster Shores 4 1/2 years ago my wife and I were eager participants in Marketing activities. We hosted cocktail parties for prospective members and sat on panels touting the Shores as a great place to live. No more. I will never recommend this place to anyone and if asked will express my dissatisfaction at great length. WCOF have allowed things to deteriorate to the point where many, if not most of us would move out if we didn't have a half million dollars invested. As fees have steadily increased, services have steadily diminished. It's really like giving someone free access to your bank account without being able to do anything about it. Why does Westminster continue to take down negative reviews by their residents? Is Freedom of Speech not a right of every American, even if they are confined to an inflexible CCRC?

Nothing but the best of care. After complete nightmares with several care facilities in Michigan and Florida, can’t praise Westminister Towers enough. Sad how the elderly can be treated in many care facilities, we have seen it all. Not with Westminister Towers, their the best and I worked in the Profession for over 40 years.

My complain is about Magnolia Tower Orlando, FL and the Administrator Alexandra Mookerjer. My mother asked for fumigation and the day of fumigation, Friday my mother apt was not fumigated. Kindly my mother asked the Administrator Alexandra Mookerjer why her apt was not fumigated. Alexandra stated because my mother was not in her apt of which is not true as my mother was waiting for the fumigation. My mother tried to explain to the Administrator that she have bites all over her body to send someone from maintenance to check for the bed bugs. The Administrator Alexandra Mookerjee instead of sending someone, Alexandra yield at my mother as Alexandra didn’t want the other residents to heard my mother. Alexandra raised her voice again and told my mother to stay downstairs and not to go to the apt with her. By the way, my mother pay for her apt not Alexandra. My mother felt disrespected and abused by the Administrator Alexandra. Alexandra came back to my mother and stated that nothing was wrong with her apt and never send anyone to fumigate the apt. This was totally unacceptable and I want whoever is Alexandra boss to email me to get this situation with my mother resolve as abusing elderlies is totally unacceptable.

Westminster Oaks in Tallahassee was a disappointment in many ways for my parent in assisted living. While many staff members were great, quite a number were curt to the point of rude, and unprofessional. Who are they hiring? Residents in some cases were treated as if they were "in the way," not valued in the least, or like school children and told to stand in lines with their walkers, etc. We were told conflicting information about services that were available. I was appalled. The dining areas were more like school cafeterias, not always even clean (stickiness abounded) and the food was the same. My parent was not that happy, and nor was I -- not sure my spouse and I could consider a Westminster Community. Not like home, and not always very nice. The "bistro" is like a 7-11 and mainly a staff snack bar. Nothing elegant about this place.
