We had a terrible experience here in March.y loved one had no coverage for the rehab care she needed, after 60 facilities were called this dump was the only place that could admit her without an out of pocket cost. My LO was a champ and stuck it out through some horrible experiences because she was getting the PT she knew she needed. AC broke, wall units only and many of them don’t work. Some have squirrels nesting in them. There are residents left screaming and residents that the nurses don’t even close the door when they are tending to bedside bathing or diaper changes. She’s a diabetic and her her sugar was 70 they still gave her multiple doses of insulin and nearly killed her. She’s called me from her cell phone trying to get help because she couldn’t get anyone’s attention. I had to call this facility 3x to get someone to dah they’d send a nurse in to check on her while she sounded like she was having a stroke the whole time. The nurses were arguing outside of patient rooms and trash talking administration and the social worker was the cherry on top. They discharged my LO, knowing it was unsafe, with a documented history of why that wasn’t safe, and with me in the phone explaining if she went home she’d get hurt again. I begged them to review her medications first because she was overprescribed. The social workers only statement “well she says she’s okay so…” Guess who had to be sent back to the hospital 2 months after release? Her medications caused her blood pressure to drop to 60/30 and she nearly died in front of my 9 year old. They knew this would happen because I specifically told them and they had access to every supporting detail on the matter in records they didn’t care to review while ignoring family concerns. My LO is STILL under skilled nursing care, finally in a better place but she’s so scarred by her experience at Vivo that she struggles to trust and often contemplates going home against medical advice again. For the patients: if you truly need care please seek it somewhere safer until this place makes changes for patient care and safety. Caregivers and family members, save yourselves the trauma my family has endured through this experience and fight for somewhere else. Insist on a Tour first. Meet with admissions, director of nursing and social services. If something feels of, it is. And plan to send food if you want your loved ones to eat, or stick around to see what they are being fed. VISIT FREQUENTLY, And call frequently. No matter where you end up.
