The Manor at Lake Jackson

AVOID AT ALL COSTS (which are outrageous). Where to start? They are so understaffed they do not have time to deal with the issues that those patients need. I watched my dad‘s friend grab his walker backwards and then have a terrible fall. There was no staff to witness this until he fell. Once they helped him up, they told him he was all right, and as far as we know, he did not get checked over by any medical personnel. The head med tech in the evening is about ready to graduate high school… not what I would call highly qualified. Many of the staff members were on their cell phones while they were feeding patients at dinner time. My favorite incident was when one of the patients peeled off her undergarments and urinated on the floor in the middle of the commons area. And the staff’s reaction to it was to put a chair over the top of the P. We never saw it get cleaned up and the next day there was still a stain on the floor and the place still smelled like urine. this horrified me because as guests no one ever offered us chairs to sit in, so we were sitting on that same floor while having visits with My Dad because we couldn’t go back to his room. The poor patients are begging for the staff’s help, and they just keep saying to the patients “one minute” and then never going back to help them. I have elderly friends at less expensive places in Sebring, and they have more staff and the staff are friendlier than at this place. I wouldn’t put my dog in this place.

There have been some recent changes in leadership here, but I have not found any deterioration in their care towards our LOs. The staff remain upbeat and positive. I'd rate the Manor 10 out of 10. May 2025: The anniversary of my wife's fourth year in care just occurred. It was a very sad day. But the healing news is that the Manor and staff continue to look after her with the best care in the world. I am particularly pleased with the new AD who is managing to get my wife up and moving and creating things in the activities room (not an easy job!). One thing I just noticed: the pictures of the Manor don't show the internal garden! This is an area where a resident can walk out into the fresh air and sit amongst trees and plants whilst remaining secure and under constant supervision.

My pet therapy Scottie dogs, Jack and Tuli, and I visit The Manor at Lake Jackson frequently and always have a wonderful experience there. Residents are always ready and anxiously waiting for our visits, and we enjoy seeing the many smiles the Scotties generate on their faces. I've been impressed by the wide range of interactive and creative activities the facility offers on a daily basis to help keep the residents engaged and happy. Those activities require a lot of planning. Activities Director Cindy is wonderful to work with as we plan our visits and meet the residents.

The care and quality of care my mother receives is so appreciated. Daily activities keep the residents active and encourage them to interact with each other. The facility is so clean and has such a fresh smell unlike many other facilities. All of the staff are friendly and helpful when we visit! Overall I highly recommend this facility if your loved one is in need of excellent care.

The manor is a place that not only connects family’s with there loved ones but loved ones that can’t be there due to living out of state I have worked in long term care and what they do for there residents is exceptional beyond words the love and compassion all of there staff do daily is love care and values
