The Gables of Jacksonville is an absolutely wonderful place. My husband and I are responsible for my 96-year-old grandmother, and after having placed her in similar communities, we’ve finally been able to relax and watch her thrive at The Gables. Every aspect of her life there, from the staff to the food to the activities, has really set a new bar of excellence for us – including the ancillary services like the hair salon, visiting nurse practitioner, and the nail tech. I mean who gets a mani/pedi in the comfort of your own apartment? It’s all very well-run and organized, the management team is incredible, and everyone from the kitchen staff to the caregivers operates at an incredibly high level of professionalism, leading with compassion and purpose. I can’t say enough good things about her experience, and it’s really wonderful for her family to see senior care, up close, at its finest.

I was initially looking for respite care for my 89 year old Mom, and spent time touring The Gables facility, reviewing amenities, costs and more with a wonderful walk thru of the facility provided by Charlotte. I have been to MANY assisted living facilities, and was impressed with the inviting, personalized, and caring culture of The Gables. A very warm, open layout with plenty of wonderful lighting and just a wonderful, peaceful, comforting vibe that hit me as soon as I walked in! As we continue our care journey, I have found the place that I would without hesitation choose to have my Mom reside.
Kajsa (sales director) is so great and well informed! Boutique- like assisted living community. Very beachy and homey community. If you are in need of senior living- go see Kajsa!

It is incredibly comforting to know that it’s also the closest assisted living community to Mayo Clinic, which brings our family so much peace of mind. My boyfriend’s dad lives at The Gables and he is always raving about Wendy—her kindness, her attentiveness, and the genuine care she shows every single day. She goes above and beyond to make the residents feel seen, valued, and cared for, and it truly brings joy to their lives. Thank you, Wendy, for the love and dedication you pour into your work. Beautiful and recently renovated. When you walk in you feel like you’re at home. The festive holiday decor is a very nice touch and well placed throughout. LOVE the parallel programming for Memory Care. Definitely top of the list!
This community is truly a gem. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere, and the kindest person at the front desk. The grounds and common areas are beautifully maintained. The staff here are absolutely top notch - caring, attentive, and always going above and beyond to make sure every need is met. There's truly something for everyone. It's clear that the focus is on enriching lives and fostering a vibrant, supportive community. Overall The Gables sets a benchmark for assisted living where residents can thrive.
I tried twice this year to get my mother assessed for placement in Gables memory care program. Initial contact was professional and encouraging, however, follow up information or decisions was incredibly hard to get. Ellis McDonald ended up brushing me off with a vague voicemail stating that the "regionals" said they were unable to place her - no reason why, no follow-up phone call, just nothing. When I first contacted him a couple weeks ago and told him how I had been treated by Nick, the person that was in his position in January, Mr. McDonald apologized how my case was handled, but then ended up treating me the same way!! Communication is a huge problem with this facility. I would think twice before entering into an agreement with them.
