Jennifer was absolutely wonderful in helping me with the transition. My husband has Alzheimer’s that was progressing quickly. Jennifer “held my hand” as I had to make life changing decisions. In May, she helped me make the decision to place him in hospice care. He died while in hospice. I could not have made all the decisions without the help of Jennifer and wonderful staff! Kudos to everyone!!
I (and my mom) like the friendliness of the staff and how everyone knows her by name. They have an excellent PT staff and she really enjoys most of the art activities.
I had one meal there...an 'Introduction meal' when we were visiting. It was excellent. As for my Aunt, who is staying there...the meals are awful. Activities - They have a lot. My aunt is not a frequent participant, but I have not heard a complaint. My husband and I think the value is good. They are part of the Legends. If that helps. The building only has 2 floors high. The also have a memory challenged area separated and yet attached to the building. We did not tour that. My aunt is not happy there, mostly because of food and 'expense'. My aunt is not a frequent participant, but I have not heard a complaint. My husband and I think the value is good. They are part of the Legends. If that helps. The building only has 2 floors high. The also have a memory challenged area separated and yet attached to the building. We did not tour that. My aunt is not happy there, mostly because of food and 'expense'. Well you have to know my aunt. My husband and I would be happy to live there if we lived in Jacksonville. It is a gem. I never met a nicer group and the employees seem to really enjoy working there. They put on an Easter egg hunt! Too bad we missed it. We watched them set it up One possible negative - they do not do medicaid patients.

I moved my dad to The Windsor at Ortega about 6 weeks ago after two years at another facility, and I truly wish I had made the change sooner. The difference has been night and day. The smaller, more intimate environment (less than 18 residents) means my dad gets the personalized attention he deserves. The staff is incredible—caring, attentive, and proactive. Recently, my dad had a health scare, and they immediately contacted me to keep me informed and put a plan in place. When I visit, he’s always engaged, clean, and happy. I’m no longer worried about his care. Plus, the food is top-notch with fresh fruits and healthy options. I’m so grateful for The Windsor at Ortega and the peace of mind they’ve given me. Highly recommend!
Warm, welcoming, thoughtful and professional are a few words that come to mind thinking about the care my mom is receiving at The Windsor. I would recommend touring and seeing for yourself. I think you’ll be pleased.
I went to The Windsor at Ortega. They gave us samples of different food items, and they were good. The building was super clean, up-to-date, and very inviting. The rooms were great. They were like little apartments with a bedroom, living room, and bathroom. They were very nice. The staff who assisted me was super helpful, very knowledgeable, and very kind to the residents.
The Windsor at Ortega was a five-star. It was very, very nice. It was not institutional but was a warm atmosphere and very inviting. It had many activities and nice open spaces. The apartments had all that was necessary for a good life. All the staff I met was helpful and very nice. The layout was good. They had elevators since it was two-story. Everything was clean, neat, and well decorated.
The lady who answer the phone is very rude and unprofessional she does not need to answer the phones at all!
