Plantation Nursing & Rehab Center

My Mom was released last week from the Plantation Nursing and Rehabilitation Center. We took her out 2 days prior to her scheduled departure because it was awful! I flew from RI to go and help my parents. With the exception of a few good nurse, [name removed] a CNA and [name removed] the Case Worker the place is terrible! Food- forget that the worst ever but you expect that from a Nursing Rehab center. The inconsistency of the place is horrible! My poor Mom would push the button for help and someone would stroll in 20 minutes later! They even threw a Johny and cleaning clothes on her bed and said to clean herself! She had a fractured femur and could not even get herself settled in bed without extreme pain! She was left in the bathroom multiple times on the throne without help getting back to the bed. I spoke to the head of the facility and nothing was done. On her discharge she was supposed to be given a prescription for her pain meds and never received it! DON'T SEND ANYONE THERE EVER!

I was there 20 days and it was a horrible experience. Except for a select few the nurses and aides were abrupt and uncaring. The director of nursing, social worker and person who coordinated making outside doctor appointments were incompetent. It took a long time for a response to the call button, sometimes hours. Proper medications were not given and when they were given it was not at the proper times. One night the nurse called in and did not come to work. That night my roommate and I were not given our medications. The food was terrible. The only ones who were professional and caring were the actual physical therapists. There are too many bad incidents to describe here, so just suffice it to say that the care is subpar. I was fortunate to have my husband visit with me all day, every day. The nights were the worst for me when he wasn’t there to advocate for me. I would never return there even if my life depended on it!
