Macclenny Nursing and Rehab Center

This facility should not be called rehabilitation and nursing home. It should be called an All inclusive resort. my mom had the personal experience of being there for a month when I tell you, the staff is amazing. They’re not just staff their family members now the DON Miss has an open door policy. Anytime you need her while there my mom did everything from having a personal musician getting nails done every day bingo. This was my first experience with a nursing home, but I don’t think there’s too many to where you can call the staff and say hey I can’t make it up there to see my loved one and they send you a selfie.

This is the second place my daddy has been in. They are definitely better than the first place he was at. We have had some issues, my dad has a stage 2-3 bed sore on his butt that has been there for weeks and looks bad. According to a doctor I know, my dad should be moved every couple of hours to a different side till his sore heals. The bed sore is looking alot better. We appreciate that. The food sucks there. None of it looks like it's made fresh. The food is high carbs and low protein. It was discussed with my brother that high protein would help heal his bed sore, per a nurse that we both spoke too. He is supposed to be seeing a nutritionist to discuss this. We hopefully will see improvement. The facility doesn't smell bad. It is a clean facility. My dad's roomie makes the room uncomfortable for my dad by making it too warm and his tv blares all the time. Can't really speak to my dad on the phone, all you hear is the tv in the back ground. It's not alway easy carrying on a conversation with my dad because of the tv and I have heard that from the people that visit my dad. I know there are no places that everything is going to be 100%, I get that but they could be better that what we have seen, especially since it is supposed to be a 5 star place. I spoke to my brother and our concerns are being addressed. I will update as things are taken care of.

My brother admitted here a couple months ago in very poor shape. The nursing and therapy care have helped him progress much more than we originally expected and he is doing great. The staff and leadership are very responsive and caring.

I want to express my deep gratitude to the entire team at Macclenny Nursing and Rehab for the incredible care provided to my mom during her short-term rehab stay. The level of compassion and attention she received was outstanding, and I couldn’t be more thankful for the professionalism of the staff. A special shout out goes to Cody, who truly went above and beyond to make our experience exceptional. From the moment of her transfer to the facility, throughout her stay, and even ensuring a smooth transition back home, Cody was there every step of the way. His dedication and attention to detail made a world of difference, and we are deeply appreciative of his efforts. Thank you all for the exceptional care you provided. You made a challenging time so much easier for my family, and we are forever grateful.

My mother with dementia just spent 5 days for respite care … She actually enjoyed her stay and we look forward to using the service again very soon … The nurses were great with her and allowed her to sit at the nurses station and she thought she was working ! I cannot wait until our next visit !
