Kinneret

I visited Kinneret Apartments. It's based on your monthly income. For example, I live off of my Social Security, so my rent is going to be 30% of what my take-home pay is every month. The location is perfect. It's right near downtown where it's probably walkable. It's by the Amway Center, Church Street, with all the restaurants and bars and so forth. The only negative is the parking is not the best there at the property. They have one parking spot per unit and they have 200 plus units, but only 100 plus parking spots. They have what they call an overflow area where there's no assigned parking, but you can use that area. It's not empty, so you may have to park on the street. It's not a gated community or anything like that because the staff said most of the residents there, because of their age, don't have the vehicles. They typically take either transportation or they have someone drive them somewhere. What I saw was one big room with two side rooms. The floor is all laminated, brand new, and freshly painted. It gives you space for your bed and it gives you an area where you can put a sofa and a TV maybe against the wall and next to the kitchen area, which is a little area next to the dining area, it has your sink, your stove, your range, and your stainless steel new appliances. It gives you space to put a small table there. There's a nice large closet for clothing and the bathroom is large enough and it's renovated. It has an area there where it allows for storage. It's not enclosed but it's like a cubbyhole. If you have Christmas boxes or something that you want to sit there, it's a way that you can keep those types of items, plus they offer storage units as well. I was impressed. They have gatherings in the large room. They'll do bingo nights. They have different events on certain days that you can participate in if you choose. They have a potluck or something of that nature, just a way of meeting your neighbors and things of that nature. The staff was courteous, very nice, and helpful. It's a high-rise-type unit. They have some renovation going on where in the hallways you'll see flatbeds with drywall or something. That's the only thing, appearance-wise, that right now didn't appeal to me, but I know that's not going to be a long-term type thing.
