Ask about this communityGolden House Assisted Living is a Jacksonville, Florida community listed as offering assisted living. Its profile describes this option for people who need help with everyday tasks but do not require the skilled care of a nursing home. Caregivers are described as professional and trained to provide assistance with daily tasks and personalized care, with support available around the clock. The profile does not name specific tasks or clinical services, so it does not set out the precise scope of individual support.
Memory care appears among the profile’s service tags, but the listing does not describe a memory-care program or explain its services or setting. The tag indicates that memory care is listed without clarifying its scope. The available information also does not provide reliable apartment layouts or room types, so it cannot establish whether residences are private or shared or describe in-room features.
Activities listed include fitness classes, art classes, hobbies and social outings. The profile says these are tailored to residents’ interests and abilities, with examples spanning exercise, creative pursuits, personal pastimes and social events. It does not name particular hobbies or outing destinations, provide an activity calendar, or say how often classes or outings take place. The description outlines types of activities rather than a daily schedule.
For shared spaces, the listing describes landscaped grounds and common areas for residents to relax or socialize. It also names a library or reading room, a dining room and air conditioning among the amenities. These details identify places for reading and meals, as well as outdoor grounds and shared areas. The source does not describe their layout or furnishings, or specify which rooms have air conditioning.
Meals are prepared by the community’s culinary team and described as nutritious, with individual dietary needs and preferences taken into account. A dining room is listed, but the source gives no sample menus, meal times or details about how preferences are accommodated. Housekeeping, laundry and maintenance are also listed. The profile presents housekeeping and maintenance as part of maintaining a clean and comfortable living environment, but does not state service frequency or what maintenance covers.
Transportation is another listed amenity, but the profile does not specify destinations, scheduling or whether rides are used for appointments, outings or other purposes. It also does not explain how transportation relates to social outings. These service listings outline practical aspects of daily life, alongside the stated availability of caregiver support around the clock, without detailing how residents arrange individual services or how they fit into a person’s care.

Very rude staff member, I asked for the name of the individual that I may talk to and she stated “Nicole. I stated may I have her last name, due to the fact when I call back, I want be saying , may I speak to Nicole…. I like to address them by their last name. I heard an infant in the background crying. She said she didn’t know her employer last name then hung up 🧐

Best assisted living in the St.Johns, FL AREA. The people are very nice and respectful. I highly recommend this facility for your loved ones.
My grandma is very happy living here. The environment is positive and welcoming. I would definitely recommend this place to others for their loved ones.
My sweet 90 year old mother who has dementia was there for less than a year and she was treated horribly. I visited often and witnessed many times where she was treated with disrespect. They keep the place very dark and have little to no activities for the residents, with the exception of just putting them in front of a TV.
Golden House Assisted Living's staff takes care of your loved one as if they were part of their family. The love and care provided is the best I've ever seen, and the atmosphere feels like a home instead of just a facility. I highly recommend Golden House to anyone needing care for a loved one.
I've read some of the negative reviews on here, and they don't make any sense whatsoever. I've had two different family members stay at Golden House, and I have spent many hours visiting and talking with the staff. The owner is one of the most caring individuals I've ever met, and she takes care of the residents like they are her own family. Unlike most larger facilities, this one smells very pleasant and is very clean. It does not smell like urine, which tells you immediately that they keep everything very clean. The staff and owner are amazing, and this is the place I will always bring my family to if the need arises.
Don’t take your loved one here. I did. September 2019 my mother’s hand appeared to be broken. They had no explanation. X-rays more than once but no broken bones. Afterwards the real fright began. She has incontinence. The caregiver showed me in front of my mother how she had messed up the toilet. Meanwhile my mom is in the shower apologizing and begging the caregiver to turn on the water. The caregiver refuses saying the owner, [name removed] will not allow them to use running water and that she must completely soap down in order to turn on the shower. She said she has to conserve the water or she will lose her job. I was horrified. Then her medical provider kept calling to do bloodwork and urine tests but the owner would not answer or return the calls. I had to call several times. That’s when they decided to call the police on the medical provider and say they were trespassing as the owner didn’t want them to treat the residents any longer. She changed their doctor and did not get consent from me. The medical organization had their attorney file complaints with the State of Florida Agency for Healthcare and Florida Omsbudman. They investigated and still have ongoing investigations due to other confidentiality complaints and findings. In November my mother almost died and was hospitalized for pneumonia. She was released under the care of hospice and returned to this place. The investigation began in March and [name removed] was issued citations for denying patient right to choose their own physician. I was contacted by Agency doing the investigation and subsequently the same day my mother was evicted. I had just paid the months rent on the first and she evicted her two days later. Fortunately I found a quality facility and relocated my mother on [date removed] before the quarantine began the next day for corona virus. To this day she will not refund a portion of the rent. I had nightmares every night she was there. Her roommate died early December after my mother returned from hospital and a few weeks later another resident passed. I believe at least 5 residents died from [date removed] through [date removed]. That’s alarming. They also put up no visitors during mealtime and that is a breach of their contract and a violation of patients rights. Do not send your loved one there. They do not have cheery employees. The employees live there.
