Mom had been in several ALF and rehab facilities in Ocala, and we had bad experiences with most of them (most were crowded with patients, under-staffed with apathetic and under-paid workers, etc.). The staff at Emerald were very caring and helpful, and treated mom with respect, kindness, and dignity. Irene Mercado and her husband Ronel are personally involved with every resident, and are very supportive and sympathetic caregivers. I would definitely recommend…

We recently moved mom from Ocala, Florida to get her closer to us. Emerald was recommended to us by a placement assistance provider. Mom had been in several ALF and rehab facilities in Ocala, and we had bad experiences with most of them (most were crowded with patients, under-staffed with apathetic and under-paid workers, etc.). The staff at Emerald were very caring and helpful, and treated mom with respect, kindness, and dignity. Irene Mercado and her husband Ronel are personally involved with every resident, and are very supportive and sympathetic caregivers. I would definitely recommend Emerald to anyone looking for an assisted living facility for their loved ones.
My mother-in-law lived at Emerald for about five months until she passed away just a week ago. I’m incredibly grateful to the staff who treated her so lovingly. Irene and Cybal were always available to answer questions. My mother-in-law lived independently until she was 97 years old, and it was difficult to choose an assisted living facility for her. I am happy we chose Emerald.
My grandfather was a resident here & was losing a significant amount of weight. His wife was bringing in some homemade meals for him to eat, in hopes of getting him to gain some weight. Irene, the director, told my grandfather's wife that my grandfather was GAINING too much weight, when that was very incorrect. When talking about the meals that his wife was bringing in, Irene told her, "By bringing in more food, all you do is make more poop for us to clean up!" Absolutely DESPICABLE. My grandfather was a resident here & was losing a significant amount of weight. His wife was bringing in some homemade meals for him to eat, in hopes of getting him to gain some weight. Irene, the director, told my grandfather's wife that my grandfather was GAINING too much weight, when that was very incorrect. When talking about the meals that his wife was bringing in, Irene told her, "By bringing in more food, all you do is make more poop for us to clean up!" Absolutely DESPICABLE. When I'd visit my grandfather, every single resident looked completely sedated, slumped over on the couch. It was extremely depressing. The bathrooms were never clean... always full of urine on the floor. If you don't care about your loved one, send them here.

The staff and owners are just genuine caring people. From the very first visit, I already know and can feel the warmth of care from the way the residents are treated in this facility. I will always recommend this place for your loved ones and family when they need ALF care. Ronel gave me all the updates the family needed and made us feel like our parents truly belong and is in our loving home. We love you guys and keep up the great work that you do.. 🙏💕
Caring and loving people
My mom has been there for over 5 years. Didn't like making an appointment during covid to see my own mother, but I understood why at first. But that went on until just recently, and they got a little snippy about making an appointment.I got snippy back. All the other facilities had eased up on the covid thing weeks prior. I thought that was a bit much. I miss several of the employees who no longer work there. They were so good to my mom. And they kept me informed on how she was eating and things. Not so much now. 😞
My Mom has been here 6 years. The care has been very good, the people who work here care about the residence like their own family. Which is so important for this phase of their life. I have been in other Assisted Living facility with other family members. Some of them are very fancy and decorated like a resort, but the care was not good! Fairgreen is not fancy, but has all the needed amenities to take care of your loved ones, and to put your mind at ease.
We recently tour this facility but we weren't impressed right away because of lack of staff they have, what bothered me is that 1 staff from activities told us that we need to put our loved ones in a different assisted living because residents are not properly assisted due to lack of staff. Talked to administrator of course all you will hear are all good things. Sorry but with regards to my tour I was not impressed and very expensive compared to the other ones close by.
