Brookdale Lake Orienta

My mom is a resident of Brookdale Lake Orienta. It's very nice. They keep it very nicely. They don't have so many grounds to walk. She can walk, but it's not so big, but very nice. The staff has been great. They have been very responsive to her. Twice a week they have activities outside the facility where they can go and go to the mall or they go to a play. They do different things. They've got activities on site. They've got a gaming room. They have a beauty salon. They've got an exercise room. She's not in love with the food. She was very picky, so I'm sure the food was fine. I think she doesn't love it.

This was my first experience needing assisted living. [name removed] in sales was amazing. She helped me with referrals to get my mother in there and afterwards. I was invited to have a meal there when doing the tour and I could report back to my mother how great it was. [name removed] in the business office helped me with the billing. The nurses are friendly and kept me informed about her care. It's a great location and there are many activities. The receptionist is friendly.

It's a small facility with only 6 rooms so the residents get personalized care. The owner, [name removed], is very communicative and is great at her job. Very experienced. Most of the residents there are long term. There's not a lot of turnover. And there's not a rotating multitude of dozens of nurses. So they get to really know the residents. Most of the people there are in wheelchairs so it's kind of hard for them to do things. But I know all of the residents there just from visiting my father and they're all really happy.

I visited Brookdale Lake Orienta. Their independent and assisted living are together. Everybody was very friendly. The person who was showing us around was very, very knowledgeable. She has a background in nursing, so she was able to talk about care and staff across the board, and that was very helpful. The people were very nice. They had a library. They were very close to the hospital. Their location was very good, but it felt a little bit more like an old folks' home. The ceiling seemed a little lower. The building seemed a little older. I didn't see any problems with the upkeep and the maintenance of the place.

Brookdale Lake Orienta is easily accessible. The people appeared to be very nice and very friendly. The facilities appeared to be very clean and very organized. The restaurant type of eating facility was very impressive. The only thing I didn't like too much was the fact that I had to provide everything, like the furniture. For some people, that's very convenient because then you can bring your own stuff, but for the price they're asking, I think they should provide the furnishings, too, because the price is not low. The building is old, but it's well maintained. The size of the rooms was fair.
