Brookdale Bradenton Gardens

I toured Brookdale with my brother yesterday. I can not say enough great comments about our treatment here. Jessica gave us the tour, Sandra gave him assessment, and Nancy talked to us about the financial situation. They all 3 are outstanding in friendliness, knowledge and people practices. This was our first stop and will be our last. It was a very clean older style building but perfect for my brother as I live in Ohio and I can feel at ease knowing his has great care in Florida. Lucinda at the front desk is the rudest receptionist I have ever encountered. If she is what greets you at the front desk, what goes on inside that facility? I shudder to think. I would not put a loved one here! Shame on the administration who keeps her in that position! You have her name and it was already reported. Others feel the same way but don’t want their loved one mistreated. Your choice to make her the face of your facility! First impressions are lasting!

Entering an unexpected new phase of life with a loved one is never easy, and having the right support becomes more important than ever. Although I’ve worked in healthcare administration for many years, long‑term care (specifically memory care) was outside my scope of experience. As I navigated this journey for my father, I quickly learned how overwhelming and at times discouraging it can be. Unfortunately there are people who try to take advantage of families who simply don’t know what to expect, and that added so much stress during an already emotional time. All I wanted was to ensure my dad received the best care and felt truly comfortable. When I met Nancy Lea Trask at Brookdale. From the moment we connected, she was warm, genuine, and understanding. She recognized the challenges my brother and I were facing and guided us with compassion, clarity, and patience. During our tour, we immediately felt the family‑like atmosphere and could see that this was a place where my father would be safe, supported, and treated with dignity. Knowing he will be close to his children and in an environment that prioritizes his well‑being brings us tremendous peace of mind. Healthcare may be a business, but at Brookdale Bradenton Gardens, it’s clear that people come first. Thank you, Nancy. We had such a disappointing experience with this facility. We had visited twice, went through having the assessment of our family member, went through weeks of paperwork, and set up a move in day and time. Family members drove from out of state to help pack and move the family member. The morning of the move, we sent a text to the staff reminding them we were arriving at 11:00 that morning and received an "ok' response. Literally, at 10:30 that morning, after having packed up two vehicles and were about to leave the driveway, we got a call from the Executive Director that they, in fact, would not be accepting her! It took us months to get to the point where we had made the decision to seek a facility for our loved one and after weeks of working with Brookdale, they changed their minds literally at the last moment.

My father resided at Brookdale Gardens for over two years. Right from his initial placement, the staff and administration have been exceptional. They have kept us consistently informed and updated on his health and well being. They have truly gone above and beyond my expectations. I could not have asked for better service.
