Moving a loved one into an assisted living community can be challenging, even under the best circumstances. From the very beginning, Whitney Barkey, Community Relations Director, was by my side every step of the way. She took the time to answer all of my questions, explain everything the community has to offer, and most importantly, was always honest and transparent throughout the process. I also had the pleasure of working with Shannon Scraggs, the Executive Director, who has been incredibly friendly, approachable, and available whenever I had concerns or needed guidance. My mom has been living in the community for over three months now, and from day one she has commented on how clean the community is and how kind, caring, and helpful the staff are. She receives her medications on time, enjoys a wide variety of activities, and has plenty of opportunities for socialization, which was one of my top priorities when choosing a community. One of the factors that gave me confidence in my decision was the community's outstanding track record, including zero deficiencies since 2019. It is also clear that staff retention is strong, as many team members have been there for years. I have visited at different times of the day and on various days of the week, and I am consistently greeted with the same warmth, professionalism, and genuine commitment to ensuring residents are happy and well cared for. I am truly grateful that we found this community. Knowing my mom is living in a safe, beautiful, and compassionate environment gives me tremendous peace of mind. I highly recommend it to anyone searching for assisted living for a loved one.
Awesome stable staff in this facility. I have had residence in here who received the best of care and I’m grateful to everyone for providing excellence. When you place someone here the same staff for here almost all the time which makes for consistency and Care.

Elan Manatee is not only a beautiful facility, but the people are so helpful and caring. I wouldn’t have been comfortable having my mother-in-law go to any other facility. The facility itself is set up like a high end hotel. They offer a variety of entertainment and activities for their residents to participate in. The caregivers and staff not only know all the residents, but they make a point to also get know the family. It is a relief to know that when we aren’t here, they are getting the best care possible.
Elan Memory Care was hands down the best—and the difference was obvious the moment we walked in. The facility is immaculately clean, well-maintained, and thoughtfully designed for residents with memory needs. The level of care quality is outstanding—staff are attentive, patient, and genuinely compassionate, treating residents with dignity, respect, and kindness at all times. You can immediately tell this is not just a job to them. The entire team at Elan is exceptional, but Whitney Barkey, Leasing Coordinator, truly stands out. Whitney is professional, knowledgeable, responsive, and incredibly empathetic. She guided us through every step with honesty and care, answered every question thoroughly, and never once made us feel rushed or pressured. Her support made an emotional and difficult decision feel manageable and reassuring. Elan Memory Care sets the standard for cleanliness, staffing, and resident care.
