Alto Clermont – Clermont, FL

My parents moved into Alto Senior Living in Clermont because we were assured by the sales staff that attentive care and assistance would be available when needed. My mother has limited mobility and requires help with dressing, using the bathroom, and walking. Unfortunately, within the first 24 hours, our experience has been deeply disappointing. On multiple occasions, my mother used both the panic buttons and the emergency pull cord in the bathroom and received no response. During one incident, she was left sitting on the toilet for approximately 20 minutes waiting for assistance because no staff member came despite repeated calls for help. Compounding the issue are ongoing problems with the facility’s alert system. We have repeatedly attempted to trigger alerts, only to be told by staff that the system is not working properly, even though they also state that the alarms are sounding. Regardless of the cause, residents and their families should not have to wonder whether emergency calls are being received or acted upon. This level of response is unacceptable for residents who depend on caregivers for their basic needs and safety. Families place their trust in assisted living facilities with the expectation that help will be available when residents are unable to care for themselves. Based on our experience, Alto Senior Living has failed to provide the attentive care that was promised. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and addresses both the response times and the reliability of their emergency call system so that other residents and families do not experience the same situation.
