I placed my mom here in late 2023 for a few months because there were not many choices near my residence. Below are some random notes from my experiences. Make sure to ask the marketing person good questions. And make sure you receive *all* exhibits from the contract you sign because you will not be able to receive them from Jutta later. Front office staff, Alicia, needs to display some compassion, positivity as well as courtesy in email communications. Some CNAs truly care, others are just there for the job. CNAs could use better training so that they all do things the same way. One time I witnessed a CNA, who was new on the job for only 2 weeks, already training another CNA, new on the job. Many times the place is short staffed resulting in double shifts. A few times, my mom wasn't checked on for hours despite the call light being pressed. One time, I witnessed one CNA almost administer the wrong rx to a resident. On a separate occasion, I witnessed another CNA using cuss words while criticizing the food in my mom's garbage. One of my mom's rx was requested discontinued by her Dr where Willow staff had confirmed they received the faxed request. Yet they continued to offer the rx. When confronted, Willow blamed it on the Dr for not following correct procedure, i.e., Dr should've faxed Pharmacy. Did Willow actually inform the Dr of the correct procedure? No one could tell me. They need to be better organized with laundry and have working machines. One washing machine has a bad leak and the one dryer doesn't work. I've witnessed laundry pile up and a whole load of laundry misplaced. When moving out my mom, I found a few items shoved up in my mom's closet that didn't belong to her and were clearly labeled with someone else's name. The rooms are usually clean but once I've seen my mom's toilet not cleaned for days. One CNA used the excuse that my mother rarely uses the bathroom. Should that be a reason for not checking the cleanliness of the bathroom? Also, floors in the resident rooms should be swept/mopped more frequently. I've witnessed fried foods days in a row at dinner time. Frequently, they have side salads (iceberg lettuce drenched in dressing) but never any soup. They offer a medium-large sized dessert with every lunch and dinner. As for vegetables & fruit, the serving size is small. In general, they don't allow their food in the resident rooms for insect and choking hazard reasons yet they allow a mini fridge filled with your food. The phones are not answered often. The best chances of getting a hold of someone are during business hours. But during after-hours/weekends, good luck. If you email them, they usually reply to your first attempt within 24hrs (on any given business day) which is great. However, it depends on the nature of your email. If they don't like what you're asking, they won't reply regardless of how important the subject is to you. Management with staff communications need improvement. They have multiple forms of communications which has resulted in a few staff members not receiving communications. Waited a long time for a meeting with manager Johnathan about my mother's care in general. Never had it because he continued to avoid me.
