The Residence - VITAS Healthcare

We have my father here. This place hires good people. It does not sound or smell like a typical nursing home. They make sure my dad is fed and clean. We visit as much as we can, but it is good knowing he is in good hands.

My brother is at The Residence. It is memory care, but he's in hospice. They take good care of him. They pay attention to his needs. Kimberly and the other girl are very, very nice. There are several of them in there that are just like my brother, and that means a lot. It's nice. It's got a tongue and groove ceiling that's in an arched position. They have a big eating area with several tables and chairs. They have a chef on-site at all times. The facility is clean. They seem to be on top of everything. They've been good. He gets three meals a day, he's able to sit and eat it, and he says the food is good. It's the cheapest place I've found. I feel like he's getting what he pays for. You always think it's a little high, but it's cheaper than any place else I have been to see and visit. They help out with everything. They give him his medication, they give him his bath, and they change him. If they need feeding, they feed them. They pretty much handle everything. They get him dressed in the morning. I think they deserve a five in all categories.

I feel extremely fortunate to have found The Residence for my father. I am in the process of moving him here from out of state, which has been complicated and stressful. The staff at The Residence have been absolutely wonderful to work with during the preparations for the move and have given me some much-needed peace of mind. When I toured the facility I was so impressed with how clean it is and how spacious the rooms are. I love that it is a small and intimate community, and the ratio of staff to patients is impressive. The dining room is beautiful and the food is not typical institutional fare. It feels more like a comfortable, luxurious home than a memory care facility. I was also struck by how calm the residents were during my visit. My father, and I assume many dementia patients, can be easily agitated; the staff here clearly are experts on dealing with memory-impaired people. This is a tremendous relief. I am thankful I will be able to enjoy quality visits with my father during his final years, and will no longer have to worry about his safety and emotional well-being. He will be in excellent hands at The Residence.

The staff is amazing, and the residents are always the first priority. Such a clean and cozy place for your loved one. The food is unique and always top notch!

The Residence is an amazing place! I recently took a tour of the grounds and was instantly blown away by the up keeping and the hospitality that was shown by the staff. I’m very excited to have found a wonderful place for my mother. At first I was second guessing placing my mother in an assisted living facility but the staff assured me that she will be well taken care of. Assisted living facilities are plentiful through out the Florida area but The Residence definitely stood out. If you are considering assisted living for a family member than look no further!
