The Gardens Assisted Living & Memory Care in Crystal River, Florida, offers assisted living and secured memory care at the same community. Assisted living includes help with daily needs such as bathing, dressing, meals and medications. Care staff are present around the clock, and medication management is offered. The memory care neighborhood has controlled entry and an enclosed courtyard, with staff present at all times. Respite stays are available in either section for a few days to a few weeks, including for a caregiver break, recovery after a hospital stay or a trial before a permanent move. The community is licensed by the State of Florida and accepts Medicaid.
Living arrangements include private studios and companion suites. A private studio has its own bathroom, a window facing the grounds and space for personal furniture. A companion suite accommodates two residents, with a separate private space for each and a shared bathroom. A shared room is also listed for memory care. Rooms are unfurnished, so residents may bring items such as beds and chairs; layouts are representative and may vary. Housekeeping and laundry are available. Residents may bring a dog or cat, and a therapy dog is on site full time.

The community serves three home-cooked meals daily, with menus planned by a registered dietitian. Meals are plated to order in a sunroom overlooking the gardens, and family members are welcome to join residents. Menu examples range from pancakes, waffles and eggs at breakfast to baked fish, chicken Alfredo, meatloaf, stuffed peppers and sandwiches at lunch or dinner. Sides and desserts can include vegetables, potatoes, salads, fruit, pudding, cookies, cake and ice cream.
Daily activities include art and time outdoors. A typical weekly schedule lists outdoor time on four mornings and two outings, weather permitting; plans may change with the weather or other schedule adjustments. Activities can include watercolors, nature painting, chair yoga, crafts, bingo and gardening. The schedule also includes a video church service on Sundays, family calls on Thursdays and a daily hydration social at 1 p.m. Outings may include local trips, library visits and shopping.
Outdoor areas include a shaded courtyard, garden paths and gardens for residents to use. A community activities van is used for outings, shopping trips and pool visits. A salon provides hair and nail services. The Gardens is minutes from downtown Crystal River, the waterfront and Citrus County medical offices. The city is also known for its springs and manatee tours on Kings Bay.

The Gardens Assisted Living Facility left a great impression on me. The community was very clean, organized, and comfortable, with a warm atmosphere that felt inviting and well cared for. One of the things I noticed right away was the happiness of the residents and the genuine kindness of the staff. The Gardens Assisted Living Facility left a great impression on me. The community was very clean, organized, and comfortable, with a warm atmosphere that felt inviting and well cared for. One of the things I noticed right away was the happiness of the residents and the genuine kindness of the staff. The employees were amazing — patient, attentive, and clearly invested in making sure each resident felt comfortable, safe, and valued. I could also tell that safety and security are taken seriously, while still allowing the residents to enjoy themselves and feel at home. The activities brought a lot of energy and joy to the community, and it was great to see residents engaged, smiling, and having a good time. The Gardens is clearly a place where the staff truly cares.

I witnessed an elderly woman who did not speak English, and there was no Spanish-speaking staff available to assist her. She appeared to have dementia, was completely disoriented, unaware of where she was, with a soiled diaper that seemed to have been unchanged for some time, and no one making her feel safe or comforted. She appeared to have dementia, was completely disoriented, unaware of where she was, with a soiled diaper that seemed to have been unchanged for some time, and no one making her feel safe or comforted. I even informed one of the staff members who should have been assisting her, and during the time I remained there, she was still not changed. I am not saying this happens in every case, but if one of your loved ones is here, please make sure to check that they are being properly cared for.

Ali, here is a rose for you! I wish I could give you dozens of live ones. You are a very special person that God put in my path when I need it most. My family often tells me how blessed I am and the other residents of our facility. I have been here for over four years. and sadly the previous administrator let us down. There was total disrespect of staff and residents. Unfortunately! I thank you for taking the time to rid us of the problems in the proper manor. Slowly being replaced by honorable people. Then " thank God" you weeded out the offenders and showed us both love and respect. You cleaned up the building, by furniture replacement, walls painted and worked on the gardens. I love you and felt your pain when your had your family tragedy. I am so glad he is now in rehab and close enough that my sister is taking me to see him. He has been by your side as you returned this place back into a home, and my love for him too is very strong. He will?¿ always be my "pooky bear".
I visit with my friend once a month here. Its so welcoming, staff is always so kind and provide us with fresh coffee for our visit. We enjoy sitting in the court yard drinking coffee ♡ Thank you 😊
My grandmother has been living at this assisted living community for several months now, and I couldn’t be more grateful for the care and attention she receives. The staff are compassionate, attentive, and always make her feel comfortable and valued. The environment is warm and welcoming, and I’ve noticed a positive difference in her happiness and well-being since she moved in. It’s reassuring to know she’s in such good hands, and I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for quality assisted living care.
This assisted living facility is AMAZING! They help my grandma with her everyday life while still making her feel like she’s independent. They help her with eating, her medication, and her personal hygiene. They also have so many social events and activities that’s she’s always busy with her new friends and she is never bored here. This place is great all around and they give my grandma the support she needs. 10/10 would recommend!!!
This facility is a really good choice for people who need a bit of help with daily life but still wants to maintain their independence. They offer a great balance of personal care and freedom, with staff available to assist with things like meals, medication, and personal hygiene. Plus they have an amazing social programs and very fun activities. Which helps fight loneliness and keeps the residents engaged. This is a good place to get your family the support they need.
