4.2 · 248 reviewsMy family member was admitted in this facility a few weeks ago which I cannot recommend at all. Everyone was standoff ish and not polite. I attempted to try to talk to the i guess she called herself the administrator but was no where to ever be seen. The only staff member that introduced themself and seem to care was the risk manager, Rebecah or Rachael and i think a supervisor. I did not feel like care was the number one goal in this place.
They have been treating my mother in law very nice. The place is very clean and doesn't smell bad.
I would like to commend Krista Thomas, the dismissal person. She is was very accessible and a true advocate for your patients She explained all the paperwork and offered us options for making sure our friend would be well taken care of when she left your facility.

My experience with Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center was one of the worst experiences my family has ever gone through. The food served to patients is unacceptable. You can clearly see trays coming back full because many patients refuse to eat the meals being provided. For elderly patients trying to recover, proper nutrition should be a priority, but this facility completely fails in that area. Communication between management and staff is chaotic and inconsistent. One employee tells you one thing, another tells you something completely different. Families are left confused, stressed, and without real guidance. The social services department, especially Rebecca and Krista, demonstrated a serious lack of professionalism and coordination. My mother was given what I consider an unsafe discharge on a Sunday, knowing very well that most services and providers are closed on Sundays and impossible to reach. To make matters worse, she was discharged WITHOUT a walker. Thank God I had personally purchased a wheelchair beforehand, because otherwise we would have had no safe way to get her home unless we paid privately out of pocket. That is unacceptable for a rehabilitation facility that claims to provide quality patient care. Now my mother is home without the proper equipment fully arranged and with therapy services still unresolved. Once the patient leaves their facility, they no longer want to help or work with the family because, at that point, they are no longer getting paid. That is exactly how it feels. This facility presents itself as caring and professional, but our experience was the complete opposite. Families should not have to beg for communication, proper discharge planning, or basic patient safety. If you can keep your loved ones away from Tampa Lakes Health and Rehabilitation Center in Tampa, do it. Please do your research before trusting this facility with someone you love.
On May 10th I arrived at 3:30. I introduced myself to the recepinist on duty and I was welcomed with complete rudness. She acted as she was very annoyed of being there. My mother later informed me that this is very normal for this lady. I will be speaking with staff on Monday.
The staff at Tampa Lakes, Bluewater Bay, has been amazin, caring to my mother-in-law. Even with her language barrier (Spanish), the English speaking staff has been so good to her. Everyone has been amazing to us. Highly recommend Tampa Lakes Rehab.
