Melissa and staff were accommodating, proactive and compassionate in helping get my parents set up in a safe and caring environment.

After months searching for an Assisted Living Facility for my mom, we finally found the right place at Parkside Assisted Living and Memory care in Port Charlotte. Not to big and not to small. Just right. I don’t feel like my loved one will get lost in the shuffle or treated like another number. It checked all of our boxes. After months searching for an Assisted Living Facility for my mom, we finally found the right place at Parkside Assisted Living and Memory care in Port Charlotte. Not to big and not to small. Just right. I don’t feel like my loved one will get lost in the shuffle or treated like another number. It checked all of our boxes. After meeting with Melissa Vanderbilt-Bestor I knew this was the place for mom. Melissa has been so caring and understanding during this transition. She is very knowledgeable and answered all my questions and has given me guidance too. I would recommend Parkside to anyone that is looking to place their loved one at an Assisted Living Center and you should definitely talk with Melissa Vanderbilt-Bestor.

I enjoyed the hands on simulation by Melissa for Alzheimer’s/Dementia. As a Physical Therapist Assistant we carry a case load with more than one patient with this diagnosis and this gives us insight of what they go through and understand this diagnosis more! Thank you Melissa.

Parkside Assisted Living and Memory Care was home to our mom for over three years, and we are truly grateful for the care she received there. While no place is ever perfect, we saw a very positive transformation under the new leadership of Andrea. Her involvement brought noticeable improvements that made a real difference for both residents and families. We especially want to recognize Angela, Shelia, and Marybeth, who were consistently kind, attentive, and compassionate. They treated our mom with dignity and warmth, and it meant so much to know she was in caring hands. The relationships they built with her, and with us, will always be appreciated. Caring for someone with memory loss is never easy, but Parkside’s team worked hard to provide comfort, support, and a safe environment. We’re thankful for the dedication of the staff and the peace of mind they gave our family during a long and emotional journey.
Parkside is such a beautiful building. I loved that they have been working on getting better staff in. Every time i visit my dad i feel like there’s more and more staff that care vs when i would visit at the beginning of 2025. The new executive director Andrea, is always involved with families and the residents. I have even seen her dancing with the residents at happy hour!! Whenever i have a clinical concern, Alyssa the HWD and Gloria the MCC always reach out to discuss my concerns or just to update me. Whitney is always willing to help when she’s needed and if she doesn’t have the answer she will direct you into the right department. The food is always presented beautifully. The maintenance and housekeeping staff are constantly doing their best to keep up with everything. I have nothing but positive things to say about parkside and i will be letting everyone i know that parkside is such a beautiful and caring community.
