Maris Pointe

When my aunt required memory care, we looked at many places and one was Maris Pointe Memory Care. I immediately liked the feel of the place when I walked in! It was a small well kept, stand alone 30 person facility completely dedicated to the folks who lived there. It has a homey feel since it opens up to a large "living room" with fireplace and TV where many of the residents congregate. When my aunt first arrived she would not come out of her room. It took a lot of effort by the staff but they patiently cajoled her into attending one, then two activities and now she is out and about all the time. It does my heart good to see her content and comfortable. My aunt has been there 5 years now and just turned 90. The staff is kind and attentive and she receives the care she needs with dignity. Five stars in my book!

It has a homey feel since it opens up to a large "living room" with fireplace and TV where many of the residents congregate. The building is in a square with a beautifully kept atrium in the center. The rooms are situated around the square and the residents can walk all around, through the atrium or relax on the veranda which is easily accessible. When my aunt first arrived she would not come out of her room. It took a lot of effort by the staff but they patiently cajoled her into attending one, then two activities and now she is out and about all the time. It does my heart good to see her content and comfortable. My aunt has been there 5 years now and just turned 90. There is always that little bit of guilt not bringing her up to Pennsylvania where I live but she loves Florida, even in her dementia. I visited often since we had a home nearby until June 2022 when my husband had a major stroke leaving him incapacitated. I couldn't visit as often but the staff kept me up to date. They are kind and attentive and she receives the care she needs with the dignity. Five stars in my book!

Absolutely did everything they could to make my father comfortable in his last few months battling dementia. Huge thank you to nurses and staff from the bottom of my heart.

We loved Maris Pointe for mom. Unfortunately she passed 6 weeks later. My sister and I are volunteering 3 days a week there now. We feel they made Mom so happy that we need to give back. We felt like it was one big family. Everyone always greeted us and made us welcome. They had moms best interest at heart, and she was well cared for.

Be careful what you get yourself into. My mother passed in March - the employees stole her furniture and slashed her belongings all over her room before we got to her room. Even her pictures and Valentines gifts were all over the floor. We finally were able to meet with the director, who was an absolute disgrace. A regional director did meet with us and was attempting to make multiple amends.
