4.3 · 52 reviewsA friend of mine resides there... No transportation, the air conditioning has broke several times, no hot water at times and the biggest bed bugs in the facility more than once. The staff has been rude and disrespectful. The food is questionable. I worked in a nursing home for 4 years, this is inexcusable. I wish someone would inspect this place. Very, very sad, how we treat elderly is horrible and people get away with this all the time these days.
DO NOT USE THIS FACILITY. An employee of Magnolia Gardens assaulted my 95-year-old mother so violently that my mother had to go into the hospital.
My friend who was still recovering from open heart surgery was in distress and no one at the facility could be bothered to help her. My daughter and I dropped our plans and rushed to her aid. I had called only to be put to voice mail. When we got to her room she was literally suffocating. There was a kink in her oxygen hose . If we had not gone when we did, she would have died and it would have been Magnolia Gardens fault. So thankful I listened to my Lord and goes where I am called. If I had any say she would be moved. Her brothers are of no help.

Mom lives in Magnolia Gardens Assisted Living. Everybody was super friendly. Everybody that we were able to talk to, like the residents, all said that they liked it there. That was a huge determining factor and I like that if Mom suddenly needs help with something else, it's not going to cost her $500 a month more. It was one price regardless of the level of care. It was a little bumpy in the beginning because it was a Friday when we went there, so I knew that there wouldn't be as many people. They missed her for dinner her first night, so she freaked out there and she didn't have a medical alert until Monday, so it was a little rough start, and I could only go on the weekend because she's over an hour away, but my son had gone yesterday and I was able to get them to plug her cell phone in and talk to her. So, things have been smooth. I knew there would be a transition period and so far, so good. She's transitioning well. She's talking with residents. Hopefully it'll continue that way. The dining area is really nice. It was like fine dining and they had assigned seats, which I actually think is fantastic because she knew exactly where to go each time and she got to meet the same people, so I like the assigned seats. Some people don't, but I think it keeps them from isolating themselves. She really liked the meals she had. She missed a couple, but when we went there, we were totally like an hour after everything was already done and yet they pulled out fish for us and it tasted like it had just been made.
They definitely can't handle memory care clients. they threw my mother in law out (while we were away on a cruise!) and we had to find a place to send her right away- which is practically impossible! She was exhibiting normal behavior for someone who has Alzheimer's and they couldn't deal with it- so they basically evicted her. No skills or compassion.
My best friend in the world whom i love more than words can describe was not doing so well and i felt helpless but just within days of him being at Magnolis Gardens he is already showing improvement, which has given me hope that i will have many many years with him. And i should add that this is the Don Cesar of Assissted Living Facilities. Thank you to everybody at Magnolia Gardens
Magnolia Gardens have so many caring CNA’s, kitchen staff. The place is always clean, and everybody is so nice! The food is very delicious! Very friendly and clean! I would definitely recommended this ALF. I go once a week to visit a friend and never have I been disappointment.
