Isle Health and Rehab Center

My father was a 100% combat-disabled veteran who survived two wars, yet he was treated with a complete lack of dignity and respect during his two months at this facility. Throughout his stay, the care team was non-responsive to our emails and in-person inquiries. Based on our direct observations, standard care protocols were repeatedly neglected. More alarmingly, caregivers were verbally and physically aggressive toward my father, who explicitly told us he was afraid of the staff mistreating and mishandling him. The situation became so hostile that I had to call 911, resulting in the Clay County Sheriff's Office intervening at the facility. When I asked staff members to treat my father with basic respect, two caregivers verbally attacked me and called me a "troublemaker." Furthermore, despite our providing full legal documentation, our repeated requests for his medical records were ignored for over 60 days. My father passed away suddenly, and three months later, this center has never reached out or offered a single word of condolence. I strongly urge any family looking for long-term care to do thorough research and look elsewhere to protect their loved ones.

Having worked in the home health care industry for the last 17 years I have been in and out of several rehabs/post acute facilities and nursing homes meeting families and working alongside staff to ensure a smooth transition from hospital to rehab to back a home. Its always been an honor to work with the Isle and their professional team. They make the transition easy, knowledgeable and there is a dedication to excellent service for both for patients and their families. I work the most often with the Social services Director Sumaira McCloud and can attest that the Isle really has a treasure in their Social services department. Sumaira is a true pt advocate: focusing on safe discharges and transitions and educating pts/families on the best services and resources available in the community. She is thorough and detailed in her expertise and this goes along way for the families/pts trying to navigate the ever changing health care industry. Highly recommend this building for families looking to receive additional nursing and therapy services after a hospital stay or for respite care for a loved one.

I arrived at 11:45 am on a Friday after a full hip replacement. I was told there was no walker or port-a-potty available for the entire weekend. They were locked up in a room for the weekend !!! I asked to go to the toIlet. They brought in a wheelchair that was broken. I had to hold onto the back, but when I was trying to walk back to my bed I fell 😩 because the wheelchair would not lock!!! The attendants went to get a lift machine. They lifted me up and the battery on the machine died. So I'm hanging in this lifter between the floor & my bed. They found a new battery and finally got me back in bed. I had to have my husband bring a walker and a port-a-potty from our home since that's what my doctor told me to get before my hip replacement. I was sharing a room with a curtain between me & the other person. She had the TV on loud 24 hours a day & night. I asked if she could lower the volume so she put it even louder!!! I asked the night nurse how many patients leave before their week of rehab is complete. She said about 50% of patients leave after 1 or 2 days. This place is dangerous!!! I left the next day in a wheelchair ♿️ as fast as my husband could get me out of there !!!!!!!
