Indian River Center

My husband spent a week at another facility that was horrible even though it was rated higher than Indian River. My first impression at Indian River was very positive. I was greeted at the door, I was shown around the facility and taken into the community rooms, the cafeteria, the physical therapy room and the patient rooms. I was introduced to several staff members and to the nursing staff. It was truly a pleasant experience. I felt very comfortable with the cleanliness of the facility, the quality and kindness of the staff and the compassion that was shown to everyone I encountered. Let’s face it no place is going to be perfect or like home for our loved ones but I would highly recommend Indian River Center to family and friends. The facility and furnishings are older but they’re clean, well maintained and the maintenance staff is responsive when there is an issue. The rooms are cleaned and the trash is taken out daily. The facility smells nice and there is no overwhelming smell of urine or neglect. The library and the community areas are inviting and the activities are varied so there’s something for everyone to enjoy. My advise is NOT to go by the rating scale alone. Check the facilities out yourself and choose the one that’s best for your loved one. We have been very happy with Indian River Center and again I would highly recommend the facility.
