Grand Oaks Health and Rehabilitation Center

My father-in-law was at Grand Oaks Health And Rehabilitation Center for a short time and they were a really good rehab center. They had him on a hoyer lift so they were able to get him out of bed and get him back on his feet. So, that was good. They had scheduled times for him to be able to complete his physical therapy multiple times a week, they always kept up with his bathing schedule, with his care, and he never got bedsores or anything like that. They also had a very, pretty good menu, and they always had a great schedule of activities for their seniors to be able to opt-in and attend. They posted those in their rooms clearly so they could see what was going on each week. So, I liked that. They're also close to home. I liked their staff. They're very good people. I was there when he got meals and they provided a menu in advance, so he could choose what he was going to get. It wasn't just bringing you this and that, but instead you can choose what you'd like every day. If you're looking for a Medicaid or Medicare type of places, this is a good option for you.

Patient had to constantly wait for water. Phone wouldn't work in the room - little to no communication which is crucial for the patient. Patient ended up at hospital and passing. Don't recommend this place.

The care is an extremely low level of service. It took SIX HOURS for them to take a package from the front desk to a patient room. I stood for 5 minutes with it at the front desk while the staff carried on personal conversations before they acknowledged me. Morning meds come after 11am, evening meds may come at 9 or at 10 or even 11pm. Patient requests are ignored. Certainly no consistency of care with medications. Took a whole week for a doctor to come check on the patient..and the family had to give an ultimatum to get that!!! Patient given number to call dietician but gets no response about inedible food. The staff mostly ignore you at the front desk! Don't send anyone you care about there!

From on what my husband told me ,he is very happy with most of the tasks in the facility ,specially with the director of the activities shelly, she's so kind and knows her job so well she treated her patients with respect overall this facility becomes a new one with everyone out there,thank you for your hard work.God bless you all.

My wife is currently in Room 407-B, and she is not getting the best health care compared with being in the hospital. She has a bed sore, it hurts, but do the nurses give her pain pills and/or cream when needed? No, figure every 6 hours when the pain hits every 4. At least once, while she paged the nurses and waited in pain, she could hear the nurses discussing non-nursing stuff (aka lazy). Does she get a drink with her meals or when needed? Occasionally. Since she got there a week ago, she is not allowed visitors for another week (14 day quarantine due to Coronavirus prevention), which is not a complaint, but when I bring stuff to her, they first tell her there is nothing for her, then bring the box to her a few hours later. Three times a week, she is scheduled to go to DaVita for Dialysis (call it a monopoly and my insurance calls Davita out-of-network), they don't get her ready to go until maybe a half hour before the bus goes, meaning they're hurrying to get her ready. When she returns from Dialysis, her food is cold. She also gets PT, which is fine, except one of her therapists called her "evil" and yelled at her, the nurses said "oh, she's 7 months pregnant" (bad excuse for harassment). If the management wants to fix things, I will not talk to you, you shall go talk to her and FIX IT! If we could go to a better rehab hospital, we would, but Aetna (Group Insurance) said this is the only one they would pay for. This past week, those good-for-nothing staff lost her blanket, which is a family heirloom made by her late mother. Tonight? THEY DID NOT GIVE HER DINNER! So, do I recommend? Not one single bit!
