Golden Years Senior Assisted Living

While there are many fine places for your mother to receive assistance with life’s challenges, Golden Years is a diamond among gems. Mom is very, very happy there. This home, built for this purpose, is full of love, caring and compassion. Every single caregiver is kind, helpful and supportive in every way. The home cooked meals are delicious. It is spotless-clean every time I visit, and there are crafts, music, and lovely places to sit outside and enjoy the chickens, turkey, peacocks and birds. It gives me peace to know that Mom is receiving the best care possible for a reasonable cost, all things included. Talk with Jessica to find out if it is the right fit for your loved one.

My mother has been in Golden Years Assisted Living for two months now. It is a very nice, well-appointed community. It's not overly decorated, like furnishings and stuff. It's very comfortable. It used to be a home that was converted into an assisted living facility. As soon as you walk in, there is an office to one side and there's a kitchen to the other, and then it opens up into a very large common room, which serves as the dining room, and the television/living room area. On each side, to the left and the right, there are single rooms on one on each end, and then a companion room on each side. It can accommodate six residents. If you keep on going, it's got two doorways that open out to a very large outdoor yard. It leads to a screened area before you go out into the yard, and essentially, it's a mini farm. They have chickens and turkeys out there, and it's very nontraditional. So it's very, very nice, and everything is provided for one monthly price. My mother is in a shared room because the shared room prices work for us, and she's very happy with her roommate. They also keep in touch with us. Because it's such a small facility, they have a very limited number of residents. They can provide hands-on and keep close contact with family members. My mother unfortunately choked one time and the employees were very on the ball. They were quick and they attended to her immediately. They're awesome. I've talked to my mom about what they've cooked, and everything is very traditional, home-cooked kind of Southern style. I've never actually seen the meal myself, but my mother is very pleased. She has always been picky, but just about everything that they've fed her, she's cleaned her plates. I also love the facility itself because no matter where they are in the building, they can always see all the residents. There are bathrooms located at each end of the facility, too. It's a very well-thought-out floor plan. For the most part, the residents have free roam of the facility and can come and go to the screened-in room or the gazebo as they please. They've got free access to whatever is there. They got puzzles and a TV. Each room has a television, and they can either watch something or they can play music and stuff so that they can relax and kick back and whatnot. They don't have a schedule of organized activities, but they do play bingo. It is just enough.

Golden Years has been an answer to prayers! When the time came for my mom to have 24 hour care 7 days a week, my sisters and I were struggling to find the right fit for her. We couldn’t afford private care and a nursing home was out of the question. A friend of mine recommended Golden Years and that was a miracle! Jessica welcomed my mom with open arms and made her feel right at home in her beautiful community. She stayed with my mom on her first night there because we were worried. Her home is so tastefully decorated with a farm feel… complete with chickens. My mom (and all of us) feel loved, cared for, and so very welcomed at Golden Years!! I wish I could give it more than 5 stars. If you are looking for full-time care for a loved one, do yourself a favor and forget about in-home care, this facility is by far better than any in-home care!!! It is in-home care in Jessica’s loving home!
