I had the opportunity to visit the facility for professional reasons. Mary Jane at the front desk is a delight. She is articulate and compassionate and helpful. The facility itself is a beautiful piece of architecture, nicely outfitted. It was clean, quiet and spacious. The residents were on an outing that day.
There is definitely a bipolar issue at that facility. From the outside, it appears shiny and polished, but once you get to know some of the people there, you begin to notice how insincere they can be. During my first couple of visits to see my dear friend, the place seemed nice. However, after observing what really goes on there, I identified several concerning issues. The staff members in the dining room are often rude to the residents, and whenever I asked a worker on the floor for assistance or had questions, they responded with an unpleasant attitude.
