Buenaventura Assisted Living Facility

Amazing staff that really care about their residents! Love the way they care for my brother ! I love to go visit and spend time them :)

My mother has been living at Amberlake for a month now and we visit her everyday; the place is like a cheap motel. It is kept clean and some of the staff are professional and the Director Edith Muniz is cordial. There is no place for visitors to sit ; you have to sit among the residents which can very annoying. We bring food and snacks for my mother and the residents hang all over you. The food menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner is scant. There are no activities for the residents except for a tv with same game show everyday. We have witnessed one birthday party and prom party and from time to time four of the residents playing dominoes and a prayer service on Saturday afternoon. Today, October 12, 2024 my husband and I went to visit and as we had nowhere to sit, my husband took a seat at the domino table and was approached by Michele, the Assistant in a belligerent manner "get off the table." He took exception to her approached and told her so. She said she we were told not to sit at other times but we were never told that. Michelle and the other staff member Justina told us to bring our own chair. If you have to place your love one in a facility let this one be your last resort.

Do your research before coming here! Absolutely awful experience.

Amberlake Assisted Living was pretty clean and very comfortable. The lady, her name is Wanda, she was very nice, and she explained everything to us. The place was clean and organized. The residents were eating. They were very nice. The only thing is that we were looking for a residential home and not a big facility. We didn't spend time in their room because it's not going to be for us. The surrounding was clean. I didn't like that it is in a busy street, so that was one of the things I noticed. But the place was clean, and it smelled good and everything. We didn’t find any complaints. Everybody was eating and talking in the dining area. It was good, it was large, and it was organized. I noticed people were socially distancing. From the outside, I like that the building was locked, so nobody can go inside without authorization, so you have to come in through doors. The front yard was well kept, it had some flowers and stuff like that, so it was clean. They have a garden, it is not big, but they have a garden. The staff was very nice and she explained a lot of things. She tried to find another place for us when she noticed that we weren't interested in that one.

The staff at Amberlake Assisted Living was nice and knowledgeable. They're still very good; but I got the impression that overall, they may be a bit understaffed. It's a small facility. It seemed like a little bit older building. The rooms were smaller. They didn't have semiprivate rooms. It was good, but the distance from my daughter would be like a 30 to 40 minute drive. It's not a very large fenced-in area, but the residents are allowed out there at certain times. There are tables out there, and you can sit with family. They will provide three meals a day.
