They are available 24/7 to tend to all of her needs. The activities are numerous and a great social experience for her. The office staff is consciousness and on point when submitting her paperwork for her Long Term Care insurance. I have recommended Blue Heron to friends and family.
While in rehab at Blue Heron, my mom fell twice within two days, ultimately requiring hospitalization. No healthcare professional adequately explained how her second fall resulted in her hospital admission. I DO NOT recommend this facility for rehab care. Extremely DISAPPOINTED with the care and communication.

Very Disappointing Experience at Blue Heron Skilled Home in Wesley Chapel I would strongly caution families to do their research before choosing Blue Heron Skilled Home in Wesley Chapel for a loved one. Our family’s experience was extremely disappointing and left us very concerned about the level of care being provided. We found medication on the floor in my mother’s room, which is completely unacceptable and raises serious concerns about medication safety and attention to residents. When my mother had to go to the hospital, we were also shocked to find her personal belongings stuffed into trash bags and left in a closet. She deserved to be treated with dignity and respect, not as if her belongings were disposable. We also found the nursing staff to be very uncaring and lacking compassion. When you place a loved one in a skilled nursing facility, you expect the staff to treat them with the same basic care and respect you would expect for your own family. This experience has been incredibly upsetting for our family. I hope management takes these concerns seriously and looks closely at how residents are being cared for, how medications are handled, and how staff treat the people entrusted to their care.

Do Not Enter! This facility is woefully inept. Yes, there are some good workers however, our overall experience was absolutely horrific. CNA's do most of the work and are severely understaffed. Even when not understaffed some are absolutely lazy and family has to do most of the work! Physical Therapists are shorthanded and the therapy is intermittent. We had a huge problem with one of the nurses and, after complaining to the Executive Director, nothing was done about it. Sadly, if one does not have the financial means for private rehabilitation, places like this take full advantage.
My mother was in long term care at Blue Heron for 3 yrs We were extremely happy with care and cleanliness. CNA Lisa Lopez is very good and caring and my mother loved her. Special mention for her nurses. Betty,Claudine, Avani Patel, Tejal Patel, Krina Patel and Punita Purohit were very considerate and caring. I hope Blue Heron recognizes them. We have NO complaints about this place. Admi nistrator Megan is very nice and present.
Maybe the other part of the facility is nice, but the rehabilitation was horrible for my father. He was recently sent to the hospital just this week. First, they do not answer the call button. It takes them 15-25 minutes before they come. Both my mother in law and I had to clean him after an accident that he had. Second, one night he wait 3 hours for a nurse to help him. Third, our first night there we asked for water and they took his cup to the bathroom faucet to fill it up. Though the physical therapy department was wonderful, the care facility is not. The blankets smell old and dirty. The head nurse called to tell me when he was going to the hospital and when I asked if I should retrieve his belongs, I was told no. The next day, my husband begged me not to send him back. The place was dirty and the food tastes awful. I went to pick up his belongings and they had already packed it up. I watch as his stuff was put in a closet and asked why it was packed up when I was told I could do it. It then informed them that I need to see the room. I was told I couldn’t. I am glad that I did. While walking in the cleaning lady said, “ Look, they left these depends. We can use them. I explained that my name is on them and I want them. Also, wanted my husband’s charging cords plugged into the wall. Please do not send your family member here if you love them. It was extremely traumatic.
Truly remarkable team and facility at Blue Heron. My mother was welcomed several weeks ago and we could not have been more blessed. Erik and Vanessa, along with the skilled nursing and LTC teams have been nothing short of phenomenal. Can't thank them enough. They all truly understand the importance of caring and catering to one's specific needs. Thank you all. God Bless.
Blue Heron is a beautiful facility. I visited my neighbor and friend there. She is receiving wonderful care. The staff is terrific. They offer so many things for their patients.
