Bayside Terrace

I researched several places for my mom and after visiting a couiple I found it clear that Bayside was the place for her. Nazim made a gret introduction first to me then with Mom. She was 99 and didn't partake in many activities. I usually visited around lunch time. The food was usually quite good. The pizza excellent. Dining staff got to know us and were very friendly and helpful. It was nice to interact with the other residents too. The staff on the second floor were all very helpful. This was general population. The maintence staff was attentative on some different issues. I became quite friendly with Doug who is a big guy with a bigger heart. Doug is also the van driver for trips to Walmart, doctors appointments and other places. After several months my mom's mental condition deteriorated and she was moved to memory care. Kate and her staff were very helpful and supportive. When it became time for Hospice care, they brought in a hospital bed and hospice nurses came in several times a day in addition to care from Kates staff far more frequently. The front desk was always manned by a rotating group with all of the answers or they would find them. Management , led by Executive Director Lesilie, were always clear and direct. In short the only thing I would change would be to move my mom into Bayside sooner.

My mom was a resident in the assisted living area for 1 year prior to her death. The staff were caring and compassionate. My mom expressed her happiness as well for the respectful care she received. They did very well considering they were sometimes short staffed especially on weekends.

The xperience of moving my Dad a year ago from the ALF side to the memory unit has been horrendous. Upon every visit I have questioned the cleanliness, why things are missing from his room, why does he have other people’s laundry and where is his, is he eating, why are all the staff members on their phones and not stimulating or helping the patients, why is their feces all over my Dads toilet, why does it smell so bad everywhere as soon as you walk in the door? Eventually Altho I was Never told, my Sister, Daughter and I were told at Thanksgiving that he was allowed No family or visitors. He had fallen twice in the month of October and sent to the hospital which we only discovered due to him not being at the facility when we went to visit. We haven’t been able to see him or advocate since then. We recently found out that he fell agin and this time was moved to another hospital. We saw him there. We begged the hospital to send him to a SNF where he can be better assisted. Well they did. But the facility is tied to Bayside, a Sister Facility of theirs. We got to see my Dad Sunday but then told today that he’s allowed no visitors due to a directive and also pictures being sent a week prior alerting them to Not allow my Sister, Daughter or Muself to see him. The only explanation for this is hiding wrong doing and neglect. I am on the phone as we speak to DCF, then it will be a Nirsing Home Ombudsman because this is outrageous. You are hiding neglect and this won’t be tolerated.

Short but nice

The staff and the med techs are really fun and helpful to be around with.
