Bayonet Point Health Center

Most staff are not attentive to the needs of residents. Most seem complacent and indifferent to the overall health care and welfare of the residents. My wife was left for very long periods of time before being changed or given needed prescriptions. This has been on several occasions, and it does not appear that it is being addressed. I know there are staff that care and they do their job. But it does not seem to be the majority at Bayonet Point Healthcare Center.

Bayonet point was incredible! They took great care of my mom. Every single person there from the front desk to the directors were super helpful. Clean place, friendly. It was a good feeling to know my mom was taken care of.

Do not take your family here. My mother in law was being killed in this facility. She went in, able to talk and feed herself. She was there for therapy to strengthen her ability to walk. She was there two weeks. From the day she got in there, she declined and was almost dead!! We asked multiple nurses what was going on. She was unable to move her body at all, couldn’t eat on her own and was “advanced” to “full care” which is the opposite of therapy to walk. Each nurse said “I don’t know what’s wrong”. After a week and a half of decline, they decided let’s do some test (after a family friend insisted) and found an “infection” that they didn’t know where it was coming from apparently. Put her on antibiotics and she was unable to do anything but stare at the ceiling. Her meds that her primary out her on were put in “hold” by their doctors there and she was suffering. After two weeks, we the family, insisted she was taken back to the hospital so her dr could see what was going on. As THREE nurses tried to talk us out of taking her, she had tales in her lungs when paramedics got there. They claimed the vitals were all good and she was fine. Got her to hospital and she had repository pneumonia, and her kidneys were shutting down. She was then placed on oxygen and has been on oxygen for days. Her body was so far down that she would have been dead before “Monday” when the facility doctor could reevaluate her. None of the nurses had a clue that she was “dying”, yet all knew that she declined to “total care” in two weeks. She is currently in ICU. I repeat DO NOT go to this facility.

I usually do not write reviews, but I have been so pleased with Baynotte Point long term and rehab facility that I wanted to share with anyone needing an honest review. I am very impressed with the professionalism, communication and care for each patient, the impeccable cleanliness and the humble kindness of the entire staff. It was hard to choose a long-term care for my mother; I visited many and decided on Baynotte Point even though it was about an hour drive each way to visit her. The Director along with department heads, and nurses always have time to discuss mom’s health and condition. This facility offers PT, OT and Speech therapy departments with an experienced department head that truly cares for the outcome of the residents. The Facility Director has developed a communication chain that has ensured every person in her organization is well informed of each resident’s condition, so much so that the Finance Director knew my mother’s condition: amazing communication, which is critical for expert care. The nurses are experienced and so very kind; I truly believe the nurses feel the residents are ‘family’ and treat each on with care and love. Overall Baynotte Point is a professional well-organized facility with everything my mother needed in her care. The staff’s expertise, training and patient kindness throughout the whole organization is truly exceptional. I would hole heartedly recommend Baynotte Point, as their excellence shines brightly.
