Ask about this communityThe Springs at Lake Pointe Woods is a 119-bed skilled nursing facility in Sarasota, Florida, on grounds spanning more than 53 acres. It provides nursing and rehabilitation care for people on short-term and longer-term stays, including post-acute care. Post-acute care generally refers to continued services after hospital-level treatment, while the facility also serves people staying longer. Its social profile identifies private rooms, but the available text cuts off before the accompanying room option is clear; full room or apartment layouts are not described.
The rehabilitation department includes physical, occupational, speech, and respiratory therapy. The facility identifies subacute orthopedic, cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological rehabilitation as areas of specialization. Broadly, these disciplines relate to movement and mobility, everyday functioning, communication and swallowing, and respiratory needs. Orthopedic rehabilitation relates to musculoskeletal recovery, while cardiac, pulmonary, and neurological specialties address heart, lung, and nervous-system conditions. The information does not describe individual treatment plans.
Specialty programs are described for residents on both short- and long-term stays, with the aim of helping people obtain or maintain function and independence. The grounds include a garden designated for functional therapy, providing an outdoor setting associated with rehabilitation. The facility does not detail specific activities in the garden or how its use is arranged. Its site also mentions views from the facility and European-style spas among the features of the setting.
Meals are served in the main dining room at breakfast, lunch, and dinner, with restaurant-style service. This outlines the daily meal schedule and dining arrangement, though menus and dietary details are not specified. A separate amenities listing also names art classes, transportation, television, and air conditioning. Another community description mentions fitness classes, educational seminars, and arts-and-crafts sessions; it does not provide a calendar or frequency for these activities.
Community updates have described additional events, including a hosted Chick-fil-A lunch and an educational lecture at the facility by an orthopedic surgeon about developments in hip and knee replacement. The lecture focused on advances in joint replacement, while the lunch was a separate resident gathering. These posts document examples of social and educational activities, not evidence of a recurring schedule.
Staff can assist residents in accessing community-based services as part of continuity of care. The information does not identify particular outside providers or services involved. Overall, the described setting combines skilled nursing for shorter recovery periods and longer stays with several rehabilitation disciplines, named specialty areas, a functional therapy garden, shared dining, and other listed amenities.

This evening, I received a call informing me that my brother, who is on hospice, is actively transitioning and that our family needed to come see him as soon as possible. I arrived at approximately 9:00 p.m., but every entrance was locked. I went from door to door, knocked repeatedly, rang the front doorbell over and over, and tried every reasonable way to get someone’s attention. No one came to the door, answered the bell, offered assistance, or directed me where to go. I did speak briefly with a nurse named Lisa and asked for help getting inside. She seemed more concerned with social media on her laptop than my concerns. She told me I would have to go around to the front entrance. I did exactly that, but despite repeatedly ringing the bell, no one ever responded. This facility contacted our family to tell us that my brother was transitioning, yet there was apparently no one available to let us inside to be with him. Because of this, my brother may pass away without having had the opportunity to see a family member who came specifically to be by his side. There are few moments more important than allowing a dying patient to be surrounded by family. No family should be left outside a locked nursing facility while their loved one is actively dying. This experience was heartbreaking, unacceptable, and deeply disturbing. The facility needs to immediately review its after-hours access procedures, staffing, communication, and response to families facing end-of-life emergencies.

I just brought my dad here @3 weeks ago and I have met one amazing person after another! Having taken care of my dad for the last many years alone, this was a really big decision for me. Each day I feel more certain that this was a great decision! I have so many kind, generous and helpful people on my team now and it feels so good! Thank you everyone from the Springs! So grateful and blessed to have chosen here and you!
Our family’s experience with this rehabilitation facility was deeply concerning and extremely disappointing. Based on what we personally witnessed and experienced, we cannot recommend this center to others seeking safe and attentive care for a loved one. Throughout my mother-in-law’s stay, communication from the facility was consistently poor. Our family repeatedly attempted to obtain clear updates regarding her condition, treatment, and overall care plan, but information was often delayed, inconsistent, or incomplete. On multiple occasions, we were told she was “doing okay,” while her medical condition ultimately required additional hospitalization and multiple surgeries. What was especially troubling was that my fiancée, who is her mother’s designated power of attorney, was not properly informed in a timely manner when her mother was transferred back to the hospital for treatment and surgical procedures. In our opinion, communication regarding serious medical developments should have been handled with far greater urgency, transparency, and professionalism. We were also concerned by what appeared to be a lack of accountability when questions were raised regarding her care and the events leading up to her hospitalizations. Rather than receiving direct answers or clear explanations, many of our concerns felt dismissed or inadequately addressed. Unfortunately, even the process of retrieving her personal belongings reflected the same level of disorganization we experienced during her stay. Despite repeated communication requesting that her items be prepared appropriately, her belongings were placed into plastic bags and left shoved underneath a chair. There did not appear to be any organized inventory or documentation process in place at the time we arrived to collect them. We understand that healthcare environments can be challenging and demanding, and we appreciate the hard work many healthcare workers perform every day. However, our family’s experience with this facility raised serious concerns regarding communication, coordination of care, organization, and overall patient oversight. Families trust facilities like this with the health, safety, and dignity of the people they love. In our experience, that trust was not met with the level of care and professionalism we expected
My Mom just came home today after 5 weeks at the Springs for rehab following hip surgery. We were both very happy with the staff and the care there. Too bad that she wasted time at another facility which basically was a setback. When I first checked out the Springs, Fritzie was great and showed me the place and I explained Mom's situation. The next day, she went to Doctor's Hospital to meet and talk to Mom, which was so nice, that meant a lot to us. And after 2 days, Mom was very comfortable at the Springs and already showing some progress. Joel and the whole crew were great working with her with PT and rehab. She was so happy with so many people there, she really loved Tomasita and so many more. The nurses are great as well. The two that I relied on the most are Anna and Karin. The kept me up to speed on everything, and when I had a question or concern, they were right on it. Great people there. So if anyone needs some rehab to get around better, I highly recommend the Springs. NOT the Pines ! Go to the Springs, you'll be glad you did. !
I was visiting my Aunt from out of town , she’s on the rehab side. The rehab smells nice and seems very clean. My Aunt can be kinda tough but I only saw the CNA’s and Nurses being kind and patient . Nurse Amber took the time to sit and talk with us about some medical questions too and get an extra pillow for my Aunt . Highly recommended .
Great place for rehab!
Visited a friend today. All the residents were at a sing along. The room was packed. Residents were having a blast. Building is clean, and all the nursing staff i met were really friendly. .
