My mother was depressed and list weight, her nails were dirty, hair dirty, I had to move her, she has already gained weight and is happier. And they kept the deposit. Cruel and inhumane
At age 94 my mother became a resident of Sunshine Assisted Living on December 11, 2018. She and I visited 5 assisted living facilities in our area. She selected Sunshine because it was a smaller private facility and the number of staff assigned to care for the six residents was a bit higher than others we looked at. She would rather be at home but she is comfortable there and treated as a family member by the staff on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week! At age 94 my mother became a resident of Sunshine Assisted Living on December 11, 2018. She and I visited 5 assisted living facilities in our area. She selected Sunshine because it was a smaller private facility and the number of staff assigned to care for the six residents was a bit higher than others we looked at. She would rather be at home but she is comfortable there and treated as a family member by the staff on duty 24 hours a day, seven days a week! This level care and supervision is exactly what she needs at this point in her life. The facility is beautiful, warm, bright and always clean. A nutritionist complies a weekly menu of healthy, nutritious and according to my mother, delicious food. Of course, she loves all the snacks too! My mother was in the hospital a few months back and had lost weight during her stay. After returning to Sunshine, she started to gain weight and was quickly back to her normal weight. The staff also encourage drinking plenty of fluids for healthy hydration each day. Bathrooms are designed with safety seats and rails. The doors are kept locked and are alarmed. There are cameras located at appropriate locations in the facility. The facility has an electric power generator to handle any power outages. The staff at Sunshine are terrific. They take their responsibility to care for all the residents very seriously. They provide my mother with three meals a day, bathing, dressing, medicine dispensing and any other personal need she may require. They do this and more with a smile and treat all the residence with respect. The work for the facility has been magnified with the advent of Covid-19. The owner and her staff have been very protective of the residents. Even with all the extra work required, the owner and her staff have been especially helpful to family members. All the residents are very well taken care of and seem content with the kind and caring staff. It is clear the seniors are enjoying this peaceful living environment. My mother selected Sunshine and I am so very happy with her decision!
I only gave 4 stars because I was not able to tour the inside of the facility, see the rooms, sample the food, or experience the normal day-to-day operations and treatment of the patients because of the covid-19 rules. I could only judge the level of care by the behavior of my mother and the kindness and attentiveness of the aides who work there with her--which have all been angels. My mother has some special needs and she gets the attention she needs with this smaller facility with very friendly and professional caregivers.

My mom moved into Sunshine AL a bit over a year ago. It was one of the hardest things to do, but she has truly thrived there. She is always well taken care of and happy at all times. It has been very difficult during this pandemic and not being able to do anything but window visits, but she looks wonderful and is always smiling when we see her. The staff are affectionate and we are thrilled we found such a wonderful home.
My 94 year old Mother moved into Sunshine Assisting Living Facility approximately 7 weeks ago. Having to make this move during a pandemic was truly difficult. My family had looked around at other places, but knew we had found the BEST place for Mom when we found Sunshine Assisted Living! This is wonderful home and Mom is extremely happy there! The facility is beautiful, the management is simply outstanding and the staff are full of compassion. We had so many questions early on, and Ms. Preet S. took the time to answer every single on of them in great detail. Preet is the epitome of professionalism. She has genuine concern and care for the residents that reside at her facility, something that is rare to find these days. Everyone under her care is treated with dignity, grace, and most importantly, with love! If you are looking for an assisted living facility for a loved one, I highly and 100% completely recommend reaching out to Sunshine Assisted Living Facility! I can actually now sleep at night knowing Mom is completely taken care of, and the best thing is she is gaining weight -- the food is wonderful. Finding Sunshine was a total gift and blessing from above!
We decided to visit Sunshine Assisted Living since it was relatively close to the area where my friend's family resides. He was looking for a suitable place for his mother. All of the areas were pleasant to be in and we could see that the residents thought so, too. The activities ranged from board games, to discussions, private reading and watching film and TV and enjoying other things. The staff is well-versed at taking care of a variety of types of people, from those who are not ambulatory - to people who have memory issues. The private rooms were decorated tastefully with a homey, light and airy atmosphere. Bathrooms were designed with safety seats and rails. Each unit has nice views of the surrounding area. The grounds were spacious and well tended. The indoor areas were all clean and bright. There is plenty of sunlight so that they do not need to use lighting when it is sunny outside. We liked that they encourage exercise. They have planned exercise classes - but also offer residents to work out any time they wish. Staff appeared to make every effort to ensure that the residents were both safe and comfortable in this living environment. We were glad we took the time to look at this facility and could recommend it as a place to check out as an option for any senior.
