My dad stayed here for about a month during his end of life, after being at home with me for a few months. Unfortunately he developed dementia and his only safe option was to be monitered 24/7. Ill be frank, this was the only option for him according to insurance and location but i thought, sure, 4.4 stars, gotta be a good facility. Boy was I wrong. •Every single time I visited, the facility snd his room was dirty, his clothes dirty,sheets soaked in pee, and the residents appeared neglected and sad. •A few times i had to go ask someone to come change his soaked sheets AFTER HIS BED WAS MADE. They left pee in there and made the bed look made. ☆If your family member cant speak for themself, has dementia or has to be fed, forget it. •A whole case of his favorite drinks, snacks and activities was brought with him, over the course of 2 weeks, was never touched because no one has the care or want to, to give it to him because he cant do it himself or open his own drink. The box of goodies eventually got put ontop of the cabinet in the room which is 6ft high where it couldnt be reached, by staff.• Twice i had to go ask someone for a drink for my dad because he had nothing, and was told lunch or dinner(seperate occasions) would be served soon and he could get a drink then. ☆Many times me and family visited we all experienced the same techs cussing and laughing mocking in the faces of the mentally impaired residents and screaming at one another over the halls. •of all the times i visited maybe 5 or 6 on the weekends during the day, no activities for the residents were ever observed. • all lunches and dinners observed looked like prison food and again, if your family member cant feed themselves.....•communication between vitas and this facility is something out of a comedy. ☆MEDS☆ PLEASE advocate for your family member to have SCHEDULED pain meds or they may not be given unless your family member can verbalize their pain. My father couldnt and he went without his already on a schedule(when he was with me) pain meds for a week or more as well as sertraline which he was on for several years. The medication was abruptly discontinued without a taper. Shortly afterward, he experienced significant emotional distress and worsening behavioral symptoms. Abrupt cessation of long-term sertraline can cause Antidepressant Discontinuation Syndrome. •Lastly, the last day we came to visit, he was suddenly "imminent" when we arrived, which you can imagine was heartbreaking and shocking to us. Sure, this could have been abrupt, but from the terrible communication and conditions and care of the facility and staff, I suspect otherwise. 0 stars.

I was so relieved when my husband left this facility. The 1st three to four days he was unable to get his pain meds. The head nurse could not "read the doctor's chicken scratch." But she was also the same nurse whose care he was under when his sugar dropped so low that he lost consciousness. For 4 hours she tried to bring it up by giving an unconscious man food and drink. Now I have zero medical training, and I know you do not attempt that. After 15 to 30 minutes, 911 should have been called. Four hours later the ambulance was called only because the nurses pulled his PICC line out. The meals were severely lacking, to put it nicely. Father's Day supper was tuna sandwiches and beets. Yumm. I was reading the other reviews, and it's strange that all of them use the same diction, syntax, and idiolect.
