Splendid Care Assisted Living

The decision to place my mother in a facility was gut wrenching for me after taking care of her myself for 5 years. From the first phone call I felt at ease. If Director Shawnese Williams was throwing me a fake sales pitch, then she deserves an Oscar. She clearly has a passion for this work, and one that is shared by the caregivers she employs. She is hands on and her staff follows her lead. They are wonderful, caring individuals also, always smiling and engaging their clients with cheerful banter. They are excellent with their communications, easy to get ahold of and always have returned my calls and answered my questions. I have read quite a few "loving atmosphere" comments in other reviews of Splendid Care and I totally agree. The have a schedule. They eat home cooked balanced meals, family style at a dining table. They have recliners and watch tv together (or they can watch in their rooms). They have activities, (but my mother is not one for activities). There is genuine affection and love there. I was so worried, that my mother would be unhappy about this transition, but she is happy there and has actually become more social and made friends. The visiting Nurse Practitioner is really nice and on top of any medical issues quickly and my mother is getting PT. You should always have a red flag checklist when you are looking for a facility. I have not seen even one red flag. There is no smell. It is clean. It is a very neat, tidy and nicely decorated house. I have always been greeted with smiles. The caregivers are attentive. The doors are locked, they have a "Ring" as well as other monitoring devices in the house. They adhere to procedures for covid control, but I have always been able to see and visit with my mother, mask on and socially distant. There is an office to visit in and on a nice day the porch, so we do not come in unsafe contact with other clients. The office is sanitized in between visitors so you do have to have an appointment to allow for that, but they are on top of preventing Covid. We feel so lucky to have found Splendid Care. It is truly a special place.

I put off the tough decision to move my loved one into a facility as long as possible because I thought she couldn’t handle it after living alone. Working in healthcare myself, I researched and researched the right type of place and agonized over it. When I got in the car after meeting Shawneise and touring Splendid Care, I said wow that is the one. You can tell this is a labor of love and the residents are cared for like family. My Grandmother has lived there for over 6 months now and calls it home. She is much happier in her new home than she was before now that she has friends, activities and doesn’t have to worry about things she is unable to do on her own. Splendid Care has saved my sanity as a caregiver and I am so grateful to them.

Amazing staff and highly organized. Spectacular service and they care for the residents as if they were their own family. What a blessed facility!

Since day 1 of my mom living at Splendid Care Assisted Living, I’ve felt very secure in knowing she was in a safe environment with caring, capable staff members. I never have to worry about my family member and that peace of mind is priceless. They really love her up! The owner, Miss Shawneise Williams, is also great at keeping in touch and passing on any relevant information. She goes the extra mile in coordinating any healthcare appointments and I truly appreciate her diligence. I highly recommend Splendid Care for your loved one!

My Godmother moved into Splendid care over six months ago. I have been over joyed with the excellent care she has received since being cared for by the staff. They are very professional, caring, thoughtful and eager to provide the care that is needed. The time that they spend with each person is outstanding. I am so thankful to have found Splendid Care Assisted Living facility, they are providing wonderful care for my 102 year old Godmother.
