Ask about this communityPeninsula Health Center in Tarpon Springs, Florida, is described by its own information as a dually certified skilled nursing facility with 120 functional beds. Its listed services include skilled nursing, rehabilitation, cardiac management, and care for people with Alzheimer’s disease and dementia. The center describes its resident rooms as spacious, without specifying room layouts or apartment options. A facility listing reports participation in both Medicare and Medicaid.
Skilled nursing is available around the clock. Physician and nurse practitioner services are onsite five days a week, with after-hours on-call services available seven days a week. Physical, occupational, and speech rehabilitation are provided by in-house staff employed by the center. Cardiac management and Alzheimer’s and dementia care are also listed, though the available information does not outline specific treatment programs, therapy schedules, or memory-care arrangements.
Care planning involves the resident, family members, and the interdisciplinary care team. The center says physicians provide medication and treatment orders at hospital discharge, which are then used to guide care after admission. The team works with residents and families to identify needs, preferences, and goals. Within the first few days, residents and families are invited to a conference to review care needs, progress toward goals, and discharge planning.
Amenities listed by the center include dining, a covered patio, additional outdoor spaces, and free salon services through its Esteem Salon. The published information does not describe menus or how meals are served. A facility listing also reports activities and events for residents and families, as well as resident and family councils; it does not give specific schedules or examples. The center identifies as faith-based and says prayer is included in each care plan. Separate facility information reports participation in Medicare and Medicaid, and automatic sprinkler coverage in all required areas. It does not describe council schedules or explain what coverage applies to individual services.
Admission paperwork is arranged within the first 24 hours, and an electronic option allows documents to be signed by email, including when someone is still at the hospital. The admission checklist includes medical insurance and prescription coverage information, photo identification, advance-directive documents, and applicable power-of-attorney or guardianship paperwork. The checklist also names a Social Security card and a pharmacy Part D prescription coverage card; where relevant, it asks for guardianship papers, and advance-directive materials may include do-not-resuscitate paperwork. Questions about insurance benefits and the stay can be raised during the admission process.
The center’s published information also reports recognition through The Joint Commission’s Gold Seal of Approval and lists memberships in the American Health Care Association and Florida Health Care Association. These are organizational details; the information provided does not describe how they affect a resident’s daily services.

Peninsula has improved tremendously since the last time I visited my mother was here a year and a half ago. We have been here three times in 4 years, and this is the nicest it has been. The facility and rooms are much cleaner and well-maintained. Mary at the front desk continues to be amazing! Although the staff often appear busy, they remain friendly and attentive. I was especially impressed to see both the Executive Director and Nursing Director actively answering call lights and engaging with residents—I never witnessed that level of involvement during previous stays. I was especially impressed to see both the Executive Director and Nursing Director actively answering call lights and engaging with residents—I never witnessed that level of involvement during previous stays. Paul from Activities is my mother’s favorite, and it’s easy to see why. He is the life of any party and his smile lights up any room. The rehab team is terrific, and Unit Manager Stephanie consistently communicates with me and follows up promptly.
I am leaving for home tomorrow after wonderful therapy to get my strength back. have been treated with respect and kindness from everyone here. Everyone I have come in contact with has been more help than I could ask for. The staff is amazing. Everyone cares. This was a very positive experience. Thank you. Peninsula!
I can’t say enough good things about this rehab center. From the moment I walked in, I felt welcomed, respected, and genuinely cared for. The staff is incredibly compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated—they go above and beyond to make sure every individual feels supported throughout their recovery journey. The facility itself is clean, comfortable, and well-maintained, creating a safe and positive environment for healing. I especially appreciated how personalized the care felt—it never seemed like a one-size-fits-all approach.
The nurses here were so nice. The building was kept very well.
I had a family member at this facility and they provided great care and customer service not just to the patient but to family while visiting as well i would recommend this rehab to anyone needing it.
I have a family member at this facility. She loves it! She has told me on several occasions that staff are caring, compassionate, and quick to respond to her needs.
I have limpedema and the staff never wraped my legs correctly. They became worse than when I came in after surgery. The food was to bland.
