Ocala Preserve is a gated residential community in Ocala, Florida, with single-family and duplex homes rather than a listed assisted-living residence. I was parked slightly on the grass trying to finish a few things up on my phone before driving. I was parked there for probably 10 min when Steven the gate card came up to me and very politely asked me to please move off the grass. I was so amazed at home kind and professional he was. I know it’s not easy to walk up to someone and ask them to move. Really impressed with the staff here.
home values have declined because of the horton sell out. dealing with the HOA is a nightmare and little is done for homeowners. constant harassment by complaints by older owners reporting to a hoa about parking …. there is non!!! speeding. not stoping at stop signs. ect. ect ….. it is like living in a apartment block. terrible place to live. cheap houses with million dollar golf estate rules that people with illusions enforce total disfuction !! HOA reacts immediately to complaints that do NOT effect the complainant , but never react to homeowners needs you will wait forever

Use to live there. Very happy with our Shea home. However, with an HOA of $550+ the fee has gone up each year while the amenities and overall quality of services has declined. Mostly 55+ during our time there but since Horton took over the amenities are all age.
Went to check out the Shea Homes Models and they are staged beautifully. The homes also have very nice finishes compared to other builders. Semi custom homes in Central Florida. Well established community with miles of trails, dog parks, gym and many other amenities including a on site full service restaurant.
I can't believe that this lovely place that was a Trilogy 55+ community was bought by Horton/Forester who changed it into an all ages development and turned it into a nightmare
Beware of Shea homes. Lovely well built home but they are not loyal to their homeowners. They sold the community to DR Horton homes and left us high and dry and never looked back. The prices of our homes have continued to drop while the HOA continues to raise! This is not how I wanted to spend my retirement years!
