The rooms are very small, and the floors have an age long buildup of dirt. The rooms floor was cleaned only once during my wife's five day stay. A woman came in on Saturday and swept and mopped only the area that did not involve moving even a small chair or the bedside table on wheels. My wife had little or no use of her arms or hands due to a fall. No consideration was given to her when it came to eating or personal hygiene. The food brought to her was, at best Lukewarm by the time she had the tray placed before her and little effort was made to assist her in eating it. On more than one…

The rooms are very small, and the floors have an age long buildup of dirt. The rooms floor was cleaned only once during my wife's five day stay. A woman came in on Saturday and swept and mopped only the area that did not involve moving even a small chair or the bedside table on wheels. My wife had little or no use of her arms or hands due to a fall. No consideration was given to her when it came to eating or personal hygiene. The food brought to her was, at best Lukewarm by the time she had the tray placed before her and little effort was made to assist her in eating it. On more than one occasion when she had a bowel movement and requested assistance via her call button, she was ignored for over an hour. She is bladder incontinent and required an occasional "diaper" change, again a long wait. On more than one occasion this "diaper " change was handled by a male attendant, making her very uncomfortable. Her injured arm was placed in a sling to assist in the natural healing of the inoperable fracture and yet no consideration was given to that issue. Whenever she had to be moved in the bed she was tossed around like a sack of potatoes. I had, on several occasions, had to readjust the sling for her as it was moved away from its intended position. I could not help but notice that the staff and resident population, were mostly people of color and I strongly feel that my wife, being white, was actually a factor in her lack of attention. Five stars from the Federal Government agency CMS are a mystery to me. I would not give it five stars if it were a clinic for sick cats or dogs. After one day and night there I began the process of getting her out to a facility that would better serve her needs.
I am a principal to an individual who is staying at North Rehabilitation Center. They assist him with medication and speech therapy, and they're attending to a bed sore. They are good. The facility is just kind of outdated so there could be some improvement to do on that. I think it needs to be painted. His room is OK. He is sharing a room with another person. They have games and church services, but I don't think they get people out. He just likes to sit on the patio.

There is an abusive male nurse who works weekends here.He denied my wife her needed pain medications yesterday due to my wife's religion. And he has a history of being a bully.
We had to put my mother-in-law in a nursing home at North Rehabilitation Center. I've only been in there once or twice, and I haven't seen any rooms. We just got her in there because she was in the hospital for a while, then she had to go back there. I haven't been able to check it out as well as I'd like to. I am going in there to care plan with her. From the looks of it, everybody seems pretty good, and the place is clean. Everybody is very friendly and attentive when you first walk in there. The staff that I've dealt with are excellent, and they are all very nice and informative. They didn't mention any activities, though they mentioned that physicians will come in there. They also have a hairdresser that comes in twice a week. They have a little garden area, though it's a very small place, and they only have 45 residents. Its kind of brand new, so it's really hard to judge right now.
The employees at North Rehabilitation Center were really wonderful. But my foot was really bad, and they thought it was a blood clot, but it wasn’t, and they refused to take me to the VA hospital. So I called 911 and they got mad. They wouldn’t take me to the VA hospital, plus I have seen other things when I was there. As far as the employees, they were great. They were the nicest people, and they were wonderful, but the things that went on in that place I was not too happy about. A man was underweight there, and he said to me, “If I give you $5, will you please push my wheelchair? Nobody pushes me around.” And I said, “No. I am going to go and get a nurse and she is going to push you.” That stands out in my mind because that man was way underweight and they should have had him on a special diet. The VA said they wouldn’t let me go back there because I called 911. What if that was my family member? For the staff, I couldn’t ask for more.
Mr. Boomershine had no problems and treated very well by all staff. Will tell others to come to this facility.
Mr.Reedy enjoyed his stay and would come back again.
