Morningside House of Sarasota

Chris and the entire Morningside House staff have been wonderful throughout the entire process of moving our mother to their facility. We were given a 45 day notice by Mom’s previous residence to move her due to her declining health. My brother and I both live out of state so this added additional stress and complexity to finding her a new care home. CarePatrol of Sarasota recommended Morningside and we couldn’t be happier. We initially talked with Chris Riccio on a Monday and by that Thursday we had everything set up to complete Mom’s move the following week! Morningside handled all aspects of coordinating the move with her previous facility. My brother and I just completed a trip to visit our mother and meet the great staff at Morningside. They exceeded our expectations and we know that mom is going to be cared for in the best way possible.

I cannot say enough good things about Morningside House of Sarasota and how grateful I am to Chris, Courtney, Lindsay, Heather, and all the other wonderful people there who provided my mother with excellent care and provided us family members with peace of mind. When it became apparent that my mother needed memory care that was considerably better than what her retirement community or family members could provide, we worried that we would not be able to find an appropriate place for her. She was confused and sometimes very angry, and would lash out at people. Morningside House was wonderful right from the start. They took the time to answer all my questions and set my mind at ease. Importantly, everyone is trained in memory care and some even donate personal time to local Alzheimer’s group activities, so the level of commitment to caring for people with dementia runs deep and it shows. Perhaps the best part was that they recognized and treated her like the unique and interesting person she was, despite her dementia and her sometimes very difficult outbursts. The staff really touched my heart with the kindness and compassion they showed toward her. The facility is bright, clean, and secure and offers many different types of activities and services in-house, as well as a nearby rehab facility, when more physical needs require. I have no hesitation in giving Morningside House of Sarasota a Five Star rating. This is a special place with outstanding people.

Morningside House came highly recommended when we were searching for a new permanent home for our Alzheimer's family member. At the point we were looking, our mom had been in memory care elsewhere and also in rehab placement after a fall. The care she received was perfectly adequate, however, like a lot of families going through this very difficult and stressful journey, we became aware that a higher level of care was needed. Our choice of Morningside House of Sarasota has absolutely proven to be the correct one. Morningside House is a dedicated Memory Care residence, which sets it apart from any previous placements. The level of Alzheimer's training and commitment to the needs of the residents is excellent. The nurses who are there 24/7 - an important consideration for our mother’s needs - and the staff at Morningside House are compassionate, patient, kind and knowledgeable. They respond to questions or concerns and address them. Everyone from the various directors of services to the front door concierge and housekeeping have been responsive, compassionate and helpful. Also, the food is excellently prepared and mom consistently looks forward to mealtime. Morningside House has exceeded our expectations and we are very grateful for the experience our family, most importantly our mom, is receiving. Thank you to all who work there.
