Mease Life

I rarely leave negative reviews, but I feel obligated to share this experience. An elderly resident in his late 80s, with less than a year remaining on his lease, needs to relocate across the country to be closer to his children and grandchildren so they can provide the support and assistance that naturally become more important with age. Remaining thousands of miles away from family is no longer in his best interest. We attempted to handle everything professionally by sending two separate certified letters requesting a discussion about an early lease termination. Both letters were received and signed for, and we have the return receipts confirming delivery. Despite those documented attempts, we have received absolutely no response—not even the courtesy of an acknowledgment. We understand that every community has policies and contractual obligations, and we were simply asking for a conversation to see whether a compassionate, mutually reasonable solution could be reached. Whether the answer is yes or no, families deserve communication, especially when they are trying to make difficult decisions for an elderly loved one. Ignoring two certified letters is disappointing and has made an already stressful situation even more difficult. I sincerely hope management chooses to reach out and demonstrate the level of professionalism, compassion, and respect that families expect from a senior living community.

From my own personal experience as a resident, Mease Life is a wonderful place to call home! It is a continuing care retirement community (CCRC), and part of the ACTS Retirement Life Communities. As such, Mease Life now offers residents the opportunity to contract in a comprehensive life care plan which will provide care for me for all of my days. Moving into an independent living community was a transition to be sure, but the residents here are incredibly friendly and go out of their way to welcome newbies. I have already made so many wonderful new friends. The lifestyle here is active and engaging, featuring a vast array of daily classes and activities. The beautiful pool is a personal favorite—it is the perfect place to relax, except when Trina, our Lifestyle Enrichment Director, is leading our water aerobics classes, which always keep us laughing and moving! To say that Mease Life is an "active" community is an understatement. The staff truly cares about our needs, maintenance requests are handled promptly, and the presence of front-desk staff/security guards 24/7 is definitely an appreciated bonus. Dining is another major highlight, with delicious meals served restaurant-style and entrees cooked-to-order. They also host fantastic special events, holiday celebrations, and lively parties. A significant feature that helps me feel safe is the knowledge that Mease Life is located in a non-evacuation zone. During Hurricanes Helene and Milton, I felt very safe, well-cared for, and completely protected. It brings immense peace of mind knowing how secure and supportive Mease Life Dunedin is. I would be remiss if I did not mention the unbeatable location in Downtown Dunedin! It is less than a mile from the front door of Mease Life to the Dunedin Marina, very walkable - and golf cart-able! The sunsets I can see each night from my screened-in terrace are simultaneously stunning and peacefuI. I am very glad that I made the decision to make Mease Life Dunedin my home.

I was in the Rehab facility for 3 weeks. The staff all were just outstanding. From the Nursing staff, Physical Therapy, Dietitian, and Activities all were outstanding and were concerned about my well being and making sure my needs were met. Thank you to Doctor Ray for arranging a procedure locally at Baycare across the street from the facility. And to Doctor Winston who came into my room and sat down to talk to me and took time to answer any questions I had.The facility is clean, house keeping cleaned my room everyday and trash emptied twice a day. The staff checked on me several times a day.Overall this was an outstanding experience after being in a Hospital for over a week and being Transferred from Orlando to Dunedin. Can’t say enough great things about this facility. Oh and the Food was really good too. This is an A+ Facility. To all the staff Thank you for taking care of me.
