Luxe Senior Living at Wellington

Shana Wenzell with a smile that brightens anyone's day. And the gal who pays attention to everything you say. Shana introduced me to Luxe Senior Living. After detailing the features, I decided to move in. I found it to be just as Shana described and I'm happy to have moved. I'd like to point out that there are two separate areas at Luxe and it seems that some reviewers are confusing them. There's the Senior Living - permanent assisted living, and there's the Luxe Skilled Nursing Facility - for recovery and Rehabilitation. I've been at both. The skilled nursing area is more like a hospital, whereas the Senior Living area is a luxurious home. Shana met me while I was recuperating at Skilled Nursing. She discussed the Senior Living side and I decided it was just what I had hoped for. I left one assisted living and glad I did. Without describing the amenities which can be seen on website I can sincerely state that the Luxe Senior Living is where I'm happy to call home

One star is more than one star earned. Please don’t take your loved ones to this place. It is horrific ! Wish I had checked this before taking my husband there because in May they lost their regular license and were given a conditional license because of all of their citations. Patient neglect was amongst the 12 pages of citations they received. After 3 days I took my husband out of there. Don’t be fooled by its lavish first floor because if you have Medicare and Humana they put you on the second floor and get your insurance authorized as a nursing home and not the physical rehab you are supposed to be there for. The second floor is beyond disgusting. The staff is limited. My husband is severely disable with ms and dementia and is non verbal. He sat in his own feces for 6 HOURS! That is just one of the many issues I witnessed while he was there. The man across the hall fell I saw he was on the floor so I went to look for staff which is an adventure as there is bare minimum staff. I found the nurse reported that the man was on the floor. A half hour later he was still on the floor again I went and found a nurse. She stated I told the aide about it. I reported that the aide did not come. After 45 minutes I picked the man up myself as it was clear that no one was coming. I could go on and on about the neglect that exists there. I can’t believe they are permitted to be open. In an effort to advocate for the poor people who are still there I reported this to AHCA. I am hoping they will take swift action. I want to mention that I could not find staff to advise them that I was taking him home. We left and it took 5 hours till someone called to report he was missing. Absolutely disgraceful. The people who work there are not professionals. If they were they wouldn’t be working there and contributing to the neglectful care that exists. Under no circumstances go there for yourself or a loved one. God please help those there that are too sick to advocate for themselves.
