This has been the best placement for my sister. I read the other review and have to disagree. The owner is frequently there and I have no trouble reaching her. They follow state- mandated guidelines for food practices and many vegetables and some fruits are grown there in the gardens. Doctor appointments are never fretted. My sister and I are family there. Thank you so much Island Splendor!
Elsa and the staff at Island Spleder, are the most caring and efficient group of women that had cared for my Mom. My Mom was difficult to work with, newly diagnosed with vascular dementia, which cause her to become very aggressive, nasty with some violet outburst. These ladies were Angels and defiantly worked very hard to try and Handel her. Actually they went beyond what I expected. Ultimately my Mom needed a locked unit where she is doing well, but I have to say "these ladies are Angels. If any one woul like to ask me any questions I would be happy to assist.

My loved one is fairly happy. They kind of complain if she has to go to a doctors appointment. The food is redundant, they serve a lot of pasta. She likes her room and the people who are there. The owner is not available very often. They don't have any activities or have any outdoor outings. I think they really should offer more outings. They usually just watch TV. I think it's important for residents with alzheimer's to get out more.
Very nice, clean, and the ladies (residence ) also appear very nice. The manager was very helpful. The nieghborhood was very nice as well.
