Heritage Waterside Luxury Senior Living

My 102-year-old mother (Frances) moved into Heritage Waterside in November 2024, and she has now happily celebrated both her 103rd and 104th birthdays here. At 104 years young, she is thriving and genuinely enjoying life to the fullest — and I truly believe the warm, family-like environment at Heritage is a major reason why. As a retired Nurse Practitioner who has visited countless senior living facilities over the years, I can say without hesitation that Heritage Waterside outshines them all. From the moment we arrived, the staff has treated my mom — and every resident and staff member — like true family. That genuine care and personal attention is evident every single day. Her studio apartment is kept spotless with weekly cleaning and laundry service. The food is fresh, delicious, and top-notch. Weekly outings (to places like HomeGoods, Bealls, Dollar Tree, and various restaurants for lunch), lively Bingo games, Happy Hour with live entertainment, wine, beer, and snacks — all of it adds joy and engagement to the residents’ lives. On-site doctor visits, a full beauty salon, manicures, and pedicures make life convenient and pampered. And the gorgeous view of the Halifax River from the property is truly the icing on the cake! I live just 3 miles away, so I visit at least four times a week. The Alexa in Mom’s room allows me to “drop in” and see her face-to-face anytime, which gives me such peace of mind. Plus, her alert necklace ensures help is always just minutes away. I tease my mom all the time, saying, “Mom, you're like the Energizer Bunny! If you keep going like this, I’m going to have to get the adjoining room next door to you soon!” She just laughs — and thanks to the incredible staff here, she really does keep going strong. What truly sets Heritage apart is how deeply they care. I’ve witnessed the staff going above and beyond time and time again, treating every resident with dignity, respect, and real affection. at “family” feeling isn’t just a slogan here — it’s lived out daily, and it’s making all the difference in my mother’s golden years. If you’re looking for a luxury senior living community where your loved one will be cherished like family, I cannot recommend Heritage Waterside highly enough. What a fantastic home for seniors! The staff and residents really great a family vibe that is unparalleled! With on-site medical staffing, patient and resident advocates, and numerous activity support...people of all interests, ages, and abilities will really flourish at the Waterside. The proximity to the river and ocean really provide a scenic backdrop to heal and feel nature year round! My parents love it after moving from MN...and it not only makes them happy...but also the entire family!

Moving my in-laws to Heritage was the best decision! The staff is amazing - caring, competent and compassionate. The director has created a wonderful culture centered around love and family. They love to celebrate everything and everyone and have created a joyful atmosphere. There’s a saying that you can’t make everybody happy all the time but they will always try! And the location is perfect with spectacular views of the sunset beyond the river and if you’re lucky enough, there are rooms with balconies and ocean views. Best. Decision. Ever.

I stayed for one month and this was my third visit for a respite stay. I like the food, especially the salmon, catfish, lasagna, omlettes, pancakes, and other food. I had a studio apartment on the first floor and it was very quiet. Heritage sits on the Halifax River which is very picturesque with beautiful sunsets.

We commend the whole staff at Heritage Waterside for taking great care of our friend who became a resident last August. Of particular note is Erika, a kind Med-Tech, who ensures our friend gets up, walks, has his meals, and is very positive with him. I’m certain she is this way with all the other residents she serves.
