I toured their inpatient rehab facility and was impressed by how clean, bright, and cheerful it looked. I hope to get my mom transferred to this facility.

I've seen a few rehabs in the area and Gulf Coast village stands out as one of the better ones with decent staff. It seemed clean and somewhat updated. Some major improvements are needed to their furnishings, the beds being the biggest issue- extremely hard thin mattress that isn't conducive to healing an injury. The tiny recliner in my dad's room looked to be donated a long long time ago and not suitable for his hip replacement recovery. If they would update their furniture and bedding, this facility has a lot of good potential. We unfortunately had to take him home hours after being admitted, because his spinal tumors could not take the pressure from the beds. They did try an airbed also, but again too hard and the state wouldn't allow us to use a mattress pad. So, 4 stars because there is great potential and furniture is an easy fix if they can find the funds. Thank you guys for a pleasant visit. Nurse Amanda was very kind and helpful while we were there, as was gi and Scott.

My mother had a hip replacement and this was the only place I could get her in at the time. One day I found her yelling in bed being ignored because the aide put her in bed in a rough way and hurt her. Then they ignored her yelling in pain. He was very rude and always mad looking. I complained and they gave her pain meds. She went from bed to wheelchair only here. They don't care about your loved ones. Keep them far far away. She has since passed because she accumulated too much water in her body from lying around instead of them doing the work they were supposed to do. The communication there is a joke!! I had to ask questions constantly. They never gave me the information packet when I arrived and told them I wanted it and still never got it. The manager, Tina, was very very lazy. Laughed at me when i asked if they were going to call me to let me know a result from a test on my mom. After I got annoyed she said she’d call and never did. After Tina left they told me she needed to go to the dr to see how much weight baring she can handle with standing up which she came from another place that had her standing. That she was supposed to have that done. That was after 3 months of being in the hell hole. They failed horribly in my opinion. Please keep your loved ones away.
