Golden Sands Assisted Living Facility

An enlightening experience. Home from home. Meticulously kept, staffed by the most qualified, caring and humorous folk. So happy to have discovered this gem, which is so reasonably priced.

My mother lived the last three years of her life at Golden Sands. They were very kind to her and met all her needs, which were considerable. She was always smiling when she saw the staff and when I visited, I could see they treated her respectfully and patiently. I dont understand the comments about dark and gloomy as it's typical of most homes in the area. Its a small converted house, which I really liked. because it doesnt have the "institutional feel" of most other huge assisted living facilities. And as soon as mom moved in there, the owner/manager gave me her cell phone number and I rarely had a problem getting her to answer right away. Maybe a resident answered when one person commenting phoned there, and I believe "Garfield" was also a resident. Perhaps the CNA on duty was away from the desk cooking a meal or caring for someone. Too bad to downrate Golden Sands. I highly recommend it.

I would give a zero star's if it was an option. Please do not take your love on here. Dark and gloomy.

Golden Sands is a small home in a quiet residential neighborhood converted to an assisted living facility. It feels like home, not an institution. The CNAs are very patient and caring and have a lot of contact with the residents. My mother was in a wheelchair and incontinent and they provided everything she needed. The administrator Swaby was responsive and ready to help. Mom became friends with her roommate and especially enjoyed the weekly music afternoon (someone came to play music for the residents) and going outside to sit.

My mother moved from NY a few weeks ago and into Golden Sands. Swaby made the move seamless. Everyone was so helpful and welcoming. My mother is a picky eater and she absolutely loves every meal they cook for her. They take such good care of her that all she does is smile. They have a terrific backyard with a huge mango tree that we can’t wait to try! We definitely recommend Golden Sands. Your loved one will be well cared for.
