DeSoto Palms Assisted Living Community

DeSoto Palms has been my home for the last two years plus. My apartment here is spacious and comfortable. The activities here are great, from plays, the circus, trying different restaurants in the area, picnics, etc. Thanks to Beth and Jodie, our activity girls ❤️We go mall walking and shopping at kohls, Walmart, publix, etc. Food here is good with phenomenal desserts! I am sad to be leaving, but new grandbabies back in upstate New York trump all.

It's been almost a year since Mom moved to DeSoto Palms and in her words most every day, "we couldn't have found a better place for me!!" After our Dad passed Mom decided that she wanted to move to assisted living rather than stay in the villa she shared with Dad for 10& years. We looked at two places with plans of considering our tours for several weeks and making a decision in a few months. That was the beginning of September 2024. By the middle of the month Mom moved to DeSoto and it truly is a wonderful community. The staff from administrator down to caregivers and housekeepers are dedicated to the community and its residents. There are many programs, activities and events, more so than most facilities. And these are always well attended with great participation. It makes all the difference! There are many specialty meal activities to enjoy. When assistance is required it is provided with promptness and concern. I could go on ... You won't want to miss checking out DeSoto Palms for yourself or your loved one.

After much research and multiple visits to various assisted living programs, my husband and I selected DeSoto Palms for my 98 year old mother-in-law’s new home after her health began to fail, and we couldn’t be happier with our choice! The leadership team of Shannon, Wendy, Cindy and Tammie are exceptional, showing sincere care and affection for my mother-in-law. The facility is well managed, well maintained and has a positive, uplifting vibe. Many activities are run, on site medical care is provided and the focus is on fostering a community of support and engagement for the residents. Transitioning my mother-in-law into assisted living was a difficult decision, but Desoto Palms was unquestionably the right decision to ensure my mother-in-law’s safety and quality of life. Thanks to all of the amazing staff for taking such great care of our loved one!

The DeSoto Palms is a small and friendly assisted living community. My sister has been living here for a few months. The staff makes you feel welcomed and the residents are such a great mix of supportive people. They offer many different kinds of activities so you can socialize. I told my sister that I would live here !

I moved my mother about three weeks ago from another local assisted living facility to DeSoto Palms in Sarasota. I can already see that she is getting better care and more attention than the previous facility. They have a very dedicated team at Desoto Palms, the Executive Director and her Department Directors are always available to assist and have been very helpful to me during my mothers transition. The staff members have been incredible and oftentimes I can see that they are building a relationship with my mother to make her feel as comfortable as possible. Im grateful that I made this move for my mother, she has agreed that she is getting better care at DeSoto Palms. My mother is not completely comfortable yet meeting new people but the Directors and staff are working deligently to help her along. If you have a loved one who needs a little help, consider DeSoto Palms, you wont be sorry, its a little gem tucked away off of Honore Ave.
