Doug Adkins and Dayspring Village serve a very important need to help people attain stability and stay safe and well. We are grateful that this assisted living facility was able to help a family member who needed help for almost a year. Dayspring provided a much-needed change from unhealthy choices/routines by providing healthier routine/structure, socialization, and a safe environment at this supportive housing facility in Hilliard, Florida. We hope and pray that our state and federal governments will do more to help people who need this type of care and environment in the future by creating legislation to focus on providing supportive housing for the mentally ill. Those who have diagnosed serious mental illnesses (SMI's) must go to the front of the line for help. Government type assistance and facilities like Doug's should be prioritized for financial aid and recognized for saving lives and helping society and families. We thank the great staff at Dayspring for their Godly work and their great service.
This place is absolutely disgusting and I would never allow a family member to live here! Period!
I can't say enough good things about Doug Adkins and the staff at Dayspring Village. They have cared for and sheltered my brother for many years. There is a wonderful nurse on duty and many opportunities are provided for him to socialize. I've noticed a marvelous change in him over the years. Communication with the staff has been exemplary. Recently my brother required hospitalization and he wasn't able to immediately return to his room. I was able to rely on Doug's experience, knowledge and advice during this trying event and it has been invaluable. I and my brother are hoping that he can…

I can't say enough good things about Doug Adkins and the staff at Dayspring Village. They have cared for and sheltered my brother for many years. There is a wonderful nurse on duty and many opportunities are provided for him to socialize. I've noticed a marvelous change in him over the years. Communication with the staff has been exemplary. Recently my brother required hospitalization and he wasn't able to immediately return to his room. I was able to rely on Doug's experience, knowledge and advice during this trying event and it has been invaluable. I and my brother are hoping that he can soon return. Thank you Doug and thanks to all your staff for continuing to do the Lord's work in such difficult times!

DSV is life changing for clients and families. The owner and staff are extremely supportive and address all concerns. You will not find another setting that addresses all of your needs. My family member has lived there for 7 years and has developed friendships as well as a meaningful life.
I'm 5 Star Rating this wonderful place. They helped me become who I am today. Can't say enough how much I appreciate and love this place. Sad I ever moved away from there, but life is based on a series of moves and relocations... Without them, we might not be able to find ourselves... Our true selves <3 I included a photo, as this is me today... 43 yrs old now (updated 2023) and living in my OWN APARTMENT ... No strings attached... I wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for the guidance of Doug and his blessed staff... They remain forever my friends, best friends in fact... As I couldn't ever forget them... In a way... Dayspring is my "Highschool of Living" and where I am today equals my graduation.
Dayspring has demonstrated many times over last 2 years how they personally care for their residents. The staff, routine , Structure is the best we've ever seen in an assisted living for mentally ill adults.
My son has lived here for the past 5 years. He has come a long way, and it literally saved his life. Doug Adkins is a man who cares about his clients and tries to provide the best stable home life possible with the limited funds he receives. I would recommend Dayspring Village to anyone who wants peace of mind knowing that their loved one is in a forever home.
This facility has improved alot since I lived there from 1998 to 2000. My name is Jeremy Balch. I doubt anyone there could forget me because I was involved in many facility activities. One day id love to drop by and thank the staff for being a major stone in ky foundation as a person. I remember Doug the Most, he always was a huge support whenever it was needed the most. I feel bad not recalling the other staff member names but they all remain lifelong friends. I may call Dayspring one day and catch up with those who meant so much to me, and always will.
