But my comment is it was a very expensive place, but it was pretty crammy. The units themselves were not very upgraded, they were small. The participants…”

The place is the highly rated Moorings Park Naples Fl. Specifically, The Chateau. Their Banyan Unit and Cypress (Memory Care). My mother was a resident for years. I was her 8 hr or more per day companion for an entire year and then some. This review applies to their CNAs and Nurses, both veteran and temps or weekenders. I witnessed way too much personal use cell phone distraction from the CNAs and one particular 16 hr weekend Nurse. In addition, CNAs and a Nurse asleep in the chairs meant for residents & visitors in public areas. Also, CNAs sleeping at dining tables where they are supposed to…

I witnessed way too much personal use cell phone distraction from the CNAs and one particular 16 hr weekend Nurse. In addition, CNAs and a Nurse asleep in the chairs meant for residents & visitors in public areas. Also, CNAs sleeping at dining tables where they are supposed to be helping a resident eat. Not one staff person moved an inch to help my mother in a choking episode in the dining room until I hollered to a CNA leaning on.the wall, "Are you trained to help with choking?! I need help!!". I was obvious my mother needed attention. Unfortunately, that is lacking by the staff. Until I took my complaint to two Directors the time the call buzzers from Resident rooms were being responded to was ridiculous, even worse at night. A CNA wld enter her room, turn off the buzzer, announce she'd be back and never come back for 30 mins. At that time we wld buzz for someone AGAIN. I rescued many a resident from falling becz frankly noone was around or they were looking at their phones (not for work either). Check on your loved one often or hire a personal companion and ask them to report to you whay is going on there.
Physicality is very nice. Staff was awful.

What we're looking for in independent are people that are engaged, happy, welcoming, and active. They have beautiful amenities. They have walking trails that have a special padding or surfaces that are easy for people to walk on. They have a beautiful communication system aboard that shows all the activities. It's well-maintained on the whole. They have a very nice gym/fitness area, a chapel, and an auditorium. From that standpoint, it looks very nice. The thing that we didn't care for is there was only one building that would allow pets, so that was very restricting.
Nice, big, expensive, great service
I was a patient at the Chateau in Moorings Park on two separate occasions. In November, 2014 and most recently from June 2, to July 22 2018. Here is my review of their facility. Concentrating on the recent visit. First, the purpose of a rehabilitation facility is help patients regain some semblance of mobility that they had prior to suffering a traumatic injury. In my case it was a broken leg, Tib-Fib in medical lingo. It was a painful and long process to become somewhat recovered. I had two sessions a day, Physical Therapy (PT) and Occupational Therapy (OT). Although, I worked with several therapists of each, I will comment on those I worked with most often. The PT I worked with mostly was Ruthie. She was unbelievable. There is an old joke, “Q. What is the difference between a terrorist and physical therapist? A. You can negotiate with a terrorist”. Ruthie was tough on me, but at no time did I feel that I was overtaxed. She was unstinting kind. As I progressed, the sessions became more and more endurable. The exercises were varied enough that I did not become bored. The OT sessions were similarly structured. The rehab center has all the equipment that one could ask for and the experienced, knowledgeable staff knows how to get most out of each. The medical staff was terrific. Incredibly professional. The nurse caring and readily available. Likewise the nurses aides. Even the clean up people were great. Now, about the facility itself: Overall, this is wonderful place. The park like setting has tables and walkways to allow for patients another way to get better. All of the staff at the Chateau was completely professional The shared rooms were large and airy, and structured so that there is feeling of privacy. Separate dining tables with two chairs in each room allow for visitors to comfortably visit. There are many areas outside the rooms to allow larger visitors to chat and relax. If you are there for a long time, you can take advantage of their laundry service for a small fee. A barber/beauty salon is on the premises. The dayroom has games magazines etc. are a good place to hang out and meet other patients. Although this not a restaurant review, the dining room at the Chateau is fabulous. The menus change daily and all are great. In addition, there are ala carte items always available. The Caesar salad is a standout. You can also have a filet if you want. With doctor’s permission even wine is also permitted. You can have meals delivered to your room or go to the dining room , which I usually did . It was great to meet other patients and compare notes. This is not so much a hospital dining hall as a fine restaurant . Spending time in rehabilitation is never fun. If you have the option and the Chateau has a room available you should consider staying at the Chateau of Moorings Park.
I tried to do 4 1/2 stars, but it would not work. I spent 6 weeks at the Chateau and every day was pleasant. The nursing staff, aids, rehab. techs., house cleaning, and administration staff are very professional, knowledgeable, and always pleasant.. Every convenience is available...even a salon, books, puzzles, entertainment, all in a beautiful facility surrounded by lovely gardens. My reason for wanting a half star, is because of the food service......they really try, but soup and coffee were always cool when served in room. The dining room service is confusing......at a table of four, two were on dessert while the others waited for their entrees. However, the food selection is huge. Just a bit of fine tuning needed. All in all, I highly recommend The Chateau at Moorings Park.
Nice place. Drug management doctor put her on tramadol. She hallucinated all night. After that he gave her advil. We could have done that. Psychiatrist was only one that was helpful.
Our Mom and Dad moved to Moorings Park about 15 years ago and initially enjoyed independent living and then, after Dad's death, Mom eventually moved to Assisted Living at Orchid Terrace and is now in Memory care at The Chateau. I've been overwhelmingly impressed by the level of care, caring and competence. And it is all in a relatively luxurious setting. We kids are spread throughout the country; None of us lives in Florida. We've been able to feel confident that Mom is experiencing a safe, secure, quality life due to the superb staff at MP. I've never seen a better facility.
