My parent was put to bed with some Tylenol and three days later my parent called me in pain and having issues breathing. A hospital stay and a SNF stay involved being away from the facility for two months. We decided to give the 30 days notice and took the parent out of this facility as we could see the writing on the wall. Now, we are having to fight to get two months of personal services reimbursed. Beware of this facility if your loved one falls as there very well could be no followup to see if any bones have been broken. My parent was put to bed with some Tylenol and three days later my parent called me in pain and having issues breathing. A hospital stay and a SNF stay involved being away from the facility for two months. We decided to give the 30 days notice and took the parent out of this facility as we could see the writing on the wall. Now, we are having to fight to get two months of personal services reimbursed. Brookdale charges for personal services not received, even if it involves their apparent lack of a plan. Its the business model, apparently. The executive director doesnt respond to emails or calls regarding the status of this, totally ghosting the family. I think they hope we will just go away.

Not unusual for caretaker and administrative staff to serve/clean in the dining room. Frequently ran out of some items listed on menu. The food is nothing like shown in their ads. Overall the caretaker staff is pleasant and helpful. During initial visit, I was told my mother could transfer to their Gainesville community when needed. They don't have a community in Gainesville.
It has been such a blessing finding Brookdale! The staff is so helpful and friendly and all of the residents are happy and so friendly! The facility is clean and inviting and the activities are plentiful!

Many staff members have personal stories of caring for their own families. this is comforting. We had the deluxe apartment and it was big and had a beautiful outlook.
I took a dear friend for a tour. It was very clean and the staff was wonderful. We did not have an appointment and they dropped what they were doing and showed us around and answered questions.
I liked the atmosphere over the other facility that my mother was in... the other was more like a hospital. Warm and homey atmosphere with friendly staff. The rooms are larger than some facilities.
5 for all categories. We chose Brookdale St. Augustine from the start due to the value for the money and the online reviews that we read. My mom always appears to be clean and well dressed.
They worked with us on short notice and where upfront about costs. Staff were friendly and helpful even when we were moving out
