It had mildew or whatever it was all over the building. It just looked bad. They had hurricane damage. This was several months after the hurricane but the fence was still down. The kitchen was completely down when I went there. People were having to eat out of Styrofoam containers. I never did meet the person who was supposed to show me around. I did meet the manager. Maintenance was poor. The facility was poor. The people didn't seem to…

When I got to Brookdale Melbourne, there was nobody there to even open the door. You just had to wait. The outside of the facility needed to be cleaned up. It had mildew or whatever it was all over the building. It just looked bad. They had hurricane damage. This was several months after the hurricane but the fence was still down. The kitchen was completely down when I went there. People were having to eat out of Styrofoam containers. I never did meet the person who was supposed to show me around. I did meet the manager. Maintenance was poor. The facility was poor. The people didn't seem to have much of an interest. The person who opened the door for me was the one who provided the tour. I don't know what her position was. I just didn't think it was a good place to go.

I know they have activities and different things like that but unfortunately, my mother doesn't participate so I can't really comment on how the activities are. She rarely even leaves her room. I think it is a great community. If I had to comment on anything being improved, it would be the cleanliness of the room and the facility. But I do think it's great for the price and I would highly recommend this place to anyone who is looking for this type of environment

My husband stayed at Brookdale Melbourne for just one night. It was not a good experience. The overall care and medication attention were not acceptable. I didn't try their food, but I did watch my husband eat breakfast or lunch, one or the other, and that was interesting. I think they were all fed in styrofoam boxes. That's what they were using, not dishes. I saw a group watching television that night with him. They have a very extensive collection of activities on shelves that they use, so I thought they had a good deal of those.
Public bathroom is always filthy dirty.
My loved one was previously a resident at Brookdale Melbourne and the experience at this facility was great for her. The cleanliness and friendliness were great. The staff, care services and meals were also great. Brookdale did a fantastic job. I would recommend Brookdale Melbourne for anyone who needs Memory Care, even myself!
We liked Brookdale and the staff immediately. We knew right away we would feel comfortable letting my father live there. He now has passed away but I feel I will visit and remain friends with the kind staff iet there.
Mom entered Brookdale Assisted Living almost 2 years ago and the staff was attentive and caring, Mom's condition deteriorated and she entered the Memory Care portion of the community. She was given the utmost attention and she was treated with care and respect and she was always looking her best when we visited. Their team is outstanding and kind and the communication with family was top on. Thank you Brookdale.
