Having lived here for 3 1/2 years now, I am still very happy with my decision to move into this Independent Living community. The physical appearance of the buildings is very homey because they are only 2 stories high and are surrounded by big beautiful oak trees and lovely landscaping. Everything is very well maintained. The location is extremely convenient to stores, doctors' offices, a wonderful hospital, banks, and almost anything else a person would need for daily living. Having lived here for 3 1/2 years now, I am still very happy with my decision to move into this Independent Living community. The physical appearance of the buildings is very homey because they are only 2 stories high and are surrounded by big beautiful oak trees and lovely landscaping. Everything is very well maintained. The location is extremely convenient to stores, doctors' offices, a wonderful hospital, banks, and almost anything else a person would need for daily living. While I still have my own car, Aston Gardens at the Courtyards offers regular transportation services to all of the locations mentioned above plus for special trips out of the immediate area. There are activities available for a variety of different interests, from parties to crafts, exercise classes, games, movies, sing-alongs, field trips, and educational offerings to name just a few. The people responsible for these activities work hard to keep them fresh and in line with what the residents want and like. Anywhere you live, food is a very important part of life and the meals here are quite excellent. Everyone I have invited to eat here has been very impressed with the quality and variety of the food served in our lovely dining room. Mealtime also offers a chance to socialize and meet new friends. The casual atmosphere here is one of the things that really appeals to me. Assisted Living and Memory Care are also a part of this community, right on the grounds within walking distance of the Independent Living apartments. My sister ended up needing to live in that building, and I will be forever grateful that she was so close by and easy to see regularly. The residents here are quite friendly and caring of each other. It really does feel like a big extended family. And the people who work here in their many different capacities truly seem to be happy to help and serve us. Thank goodness some of them are young enough to help us with the world of technology! Life here has been pleasant and interesting as well as safe and rewarding, and I hope to spend the rest of my life here - just as some of our longtime residents have managed to do.

I would definitely recommend it to other people. The staff are very friendly. The food is well seasoned and nicely presented, and tastes delicious.
The staff and management are very nice. It's the salesman who helped me to decide that we would go with the facility. He was very nice, but extremely misleading when it came to things that would be provided. Boy did he sell us a lot of bull! Said we'd get new carpet in the bedrooms... nope. Promised the moon and really laid it on thick... promised new appliances...nope. Oh and the food is awful most days...soup is like dirty dishwater. And they charge residents for soda...no refunds for meals that are inedible or even missed. I could go on and on but I digress. Knowing now what I have learned I would have not settled on this facility.
What we like the most about Aston Gardens is the security and the restaurant, is is real nice. The pool is heated and salty not chorine. Based on the experience we have had so far, we would recommend this community to others.
I went to Aston Gardens At The Courtyards. I liked the facility overall. It had a nice layout, and I liked the size of the units. The staff member that did the tour with us was good. It was clean and a little older. The unit sizes were very nice. They were more like apartments for independent living.
